I found the perfect bracket on eBay to hold a 350 tail light on my setup.




I also am going to rebuild my gauges. I have all the parts from Marcel, except I ordered the wrong gauges because I think I ended up using the ones from the 77K donor. So I have those coming in both dark and light green and I’ll see which looks best.

The plastic light it comes with is super cheap, but the stock or repro 350 fits perfectly.

That looks really good and really easy, make sure to rubber mount it so vibration isn't an issue and forget about halogen bulbs, they run too hot.

Ya, will be straightforward. Didn’t think about a rubber mount- would rubber washers do the trick?

Yes anything will help. Thankfully your bike is a four and doesn't vibrate like crazy.

I may have to go a different route or think of a different way to mount the plate. The holes for the plates are about 1/2” too narrow for Indiana plates.

Could bridge it with a secondary plate that bolts to the plate and then bolts from it bolt to the plate holder. Countersunk screw heads would lessen the standoff.

This has been a crazy year so far, and I'm finally getting back finish what I started last year.  I began a new position at my company that I've been with over 15 years, and it's been an immense amount of work and travel.  Things are starting to slow down and I'm ready to get this to the finish line!

I've been staring at my box of gauge parts from Marcel forever, so I'd like to get those wrapped up.  I have some NOS components and the repros, so it should look really nice.  I just need to take my time and roll the seams. 

I look forward to posting my results and finished bike soon! Are they ever finished?

Kenny what happened to your interactive wiring diagram? That diagram was heaven sent and chance you could get the link back up and running?

Try slicing the holes on the plate bracket right out the ends. Then weld on a set of 1/4” body washers (the large ones) where you want them. A bit of black paint and you’re done. Looks good!

P.S. The bracket from a CB750 1969-71 will take the small lamp and should be the right size for your plate.
