Sightseeing Paris in style
« on: December 27, 2024, 03:32:48 AM »
We went to Paris for a week to celebrate our 30 years anniversary.   Even in December, streets are full of scooters and motorcycles.  Anyway, there is also an option to see the sights from a sidecar.

Cool. Did you take the tour by sidecar?
I know a guy in San Diego that has a sidecar tour business.

I only took a picture of them - and forgot what bikes they use.  Triumphs maybe.

Lucky fellow!

While 'le side-car' has made it's way into modern Franglais, the more formal noun in French is 'le panier' or the basket. Harking back, I guess, to the original method of construction.

Either way, entering l'étoile in the chair has got to be an exhilarating experience.

Have always wanted to go to Paris, one of the great cities of the world.

I'll rather rudely paraphrase Samuel Johnson : "When a man is tired of Paris, he is tired of life"

I recommend you go there. I do whenever I can.

It was funny to watch all the kid's carrying arrangements on two wheel vehicles.  Also insulated blankets/bags for riders are very popular.

What i considered stupid was many riders riding with their feet off pegs and holding them like 4 inches off the ground.
