She’s worthy of one. Waiting on those pesky intake velocity airbox things so I can use the STD box and go riding. Also, picked up a genuine 4-1 yoshimura if and one has interest in the 4-1 moto GP pipe. Sounds amazing.

Planning on doing a few coast trips on this old girl.

I see Millennium had a fire and are out of the cylinder plating business right now.
Thanks for the heads up Don. I went to the website to check it out and while it doesn't sound to bad it will be awhile before the plating department is up and running. These blocks will take 3 months or so to get out.....I imagine they'll be up and running in that time frame. They do a lot of plating.....I have a feeling they'll be in a hurry to get that going again.

With equipment like that a man could stand in one urinal stall and pee into the adjacent urinal easily LOL.

Could someone explain the plating process?

I assume the billet block will need some type of plating, but where?

It's an electro plating process that adds a layer that provides hardness to the aluminum cylinder walls. They can also be sleeved with an iron liner.
I know what the pistons cost, around $800 now I'm wondering what the cylinder honing and plating costs.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

The block to be bored for the actual pistons.
Send to Millenium for nikasil plating inside bores. Look almost like chrome.

Maybe honed with a diamond tool after nikasil?

Here my block Mike prepared for me.
I ordered pistons from Dynoman they shipped to Mike. (Plus some gaskets)

Good idea to order 2 equal sets of pistons since the block will outlive the pistons? ;D
A set of extra rings for eventual mistake too :)

Photo of the test assembly without rings. Assembly lube used.
Final assembly got all cleaned up and motor oil on bores and rings.

Cyl studs came later. The 4 inner were fastened before block.
More space for the circlips and ring compression.
When on, the other studs were added.

This will be interesting. I've done this before and I'll be honest 90% of these units go overseas. I don't care about that but  the reality is everybody wants one until they are finished and then there are crickets. No more of these....this is me doing my best for a bike I love so much. You would not believe all the interest when they are gone. Christ....you'd think nobody had a chance buy one. ;D ;D ;D

Well....the day has arrived and the blocks are done. I will be picking them up this coming Wednesday. Everybody who is serious about purchasing one has to email or PM me for downpayment and cost information. I'm pretty sure a total of 4, maybe 5 are accounted for. Please contact me.
