rear luggage rack for cb750 k6
« on: September 16, 2017, 02:52:12 PM »
on the hunt for a luggage rack that fits a 76 750.  does anyone know what years will or won't fit a 76?  for example there is one on ebay now that says for a 79 750.  i imagine the rear was changed around 77/78+? lights/grab bar and so forth.

been scouring the interweb with little success/options.  any knowledge on this subject is greatly appreciated.

i've attached a photo of a bike with the style luggage rack i like.  seems tough to dig these up.

A company called "Triple-A" made the best bike racks back then, IMHO.  Set a "Followed Search" on Ebay for your bike rack and something will eventually turn up.

But be cautious about bidding wars for these things because I've had to stop the insanity when my bidding was headed north of $225. Crazy. Better to wait for the next one.

Be sure to put an add in the wanted section. Most of us have removed luggage racks from projects.

Luggage racks for the K's are reasonably common.  I have a 76F and finding a rack took months of tedious searching Ebay and Craigslist.  I finally found one that wasn't listed as such, but by then I knew what it had to look like, and pulled the trigger anyway.  Accessories is the biggest headache with these old bikes, imho.

I'm sure luggage rack will soon be found as new parts. I searched for a chain guard 4 years ago that was very tricky to find. Only some rusty ones in USA with horrible shipping cost. One year later I found new at Yamiya, chrome or black, later on cheaper versions but still OEM look at many sellers in Europe.

I have a similar rack as on the picture, but with too much rust after 20 years in a barn. Very useful though and has been around in Europe.

I know this is real old but so am I LOL:  I am having a hard time finding a rear rack to fit my 1975 CB750K5. Currently the turn signals mount to the little grab handle that is on the bike. All the racks i am seeing require that to be removed but then they have no means to mount the signals. ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. Here is the beast in question.

Like it says above look for a Triple-A rack. They were well made and they made a lot of them.
They don't require removing the blinkers or the grab bar.
Be careful though, Triple-A made racks for a lot of models and they look very similar.
Sometimes you'll see the wrong rack advertised for a certain model.
Most the Triple-A racks had the bike model they fit stamped on the rack.
Here's a Triple-A rack on my K5.

Not all racks require removal of the grab bar - the rack in the photo allows both. Notice the welds near the turn signal where the rack had previously snapped and was repaired with an insert - watch the load on the rack  8)

Some of the Triple A racks have a high sissy bar (mine did), but it can be removed as they bolt on. Mine has been on several of my cb750’s over the years and it is a great rack.

I'm going to revive this post and turn it into "all about me" and add a rack I'm looking for.

Can't be sure but looks like another Triple A with an optional back rest.

I have a luggage rack that I would be willing to sell. It’s s nice one, no rust at all. It requires moving the rear blinkers, like most. It has a vinyl  bag with it; the zipper needs repair. I can send pics.

Some of the later racks adjust to fit many models and years of Hondas.
