Many times I do the same route too, it's about getting out and having some fun for at least 50 miles.
I have my favourite roads too ;D

Prokop, you have some terrific roads nearby, and historic sites galore.
Are you coming to Michigan at all anymore?

I just got back, my oldest - she lives in Madison Heights - was turning 30.  But I took my jeep this time.

04/17/2026 ride #19 120+ miles.  It was the first day in about six weeks where the wind wasn't blowing 20mpg or better.  A beautiful day for a ride, blue shy, sun shine and mid to upper 70'sF.

I headed out going east on SR 56.  The destination was Deer Creek State Park.  Although I've been through that area many times heading to the twistys of Southern Ohio, I've never actually been to the park it's self.  I was surprised by it's size, both the lake and the actual park grounds.

Deer Creek State Park in Ohio covers approximately 2,337 to 3,100 acres of land, featuring a 1,277-acre reservoir. Located in Pickaway County, the park offers a lodge, campground, 18-hole golf course, and extensive woodlands. Additionally, it is adjacent to a separate 4,220-acre wildlife area, providing further recreational space.

I was hoping to find single track park roads like those in the Shawnee Forest, but there was only one which went to an electric sub station.  At any rate, it was a great ride to a beautiful park.  I imagine the place is wall-to-wall people during the summer season, but except for just a few fishermen and the stray car here and there, I had the place to myself.

My trip meter recorded over 120 miles, but the Google maps shows less...  Probably the miles traveled inside the park it's self???

The bike ran great.  I've put enough miles on it now to be used to it's extra 6th gear and other features the vintage bikes don't have. Lol  Must be time to switch bikes for a while.

#2  Ride 2  2026-04-18  210 km
Today warmer,  +14-16*C
I had to use my thinner Woolpower merino wool zip turtleneck sweater under my thick leather jacket.

No lunch. I had food home in need to be eaten plus red wine  ;D
And popcorn with a 40cl G&T ;D ;D

My usual favourite roads on the countryside. Mostly no traffic.

Today on my brown CB750 K2.
It has got a different MC. 12.5mm piston I had read about here as a better  alternative for a single front brake.
Yes, it works better! Suddenly a brake!!
The lever goes deeper, almost grip contact. Better brake after pumping the lever frequently and hard.

Like the pads now got broken in.

The MC for smaller Kawasaki Ninja. Aftermarket.
Recommended for single brake CB750
It has got Kawasaki 900-1000 afternarket mirrors. Not exactly as the  original, chromed with same height.

I see the cars behind, not only  my elbows that cost a ticket of $250US on my K6 a few years ago. I ordered expensive NOS Z1-900 mirrors asap as  it had in the 80's. CB750 stock mirrors sucks on lower handlebars.

https://ebay.us/m/ijbdso

Bike ran really well from start. No carb issues.  Smooth running engine.. last start November 2025.

Here a few photos
New better working MC
Views were stopped. Later this year will trees become green and flowers pop up ;D

Engine is idling, that's why headlight is lit.

Dennis, I have spent some time at Deer Creek. I saw it under construction, fished it with my uncle, in my prenuptial days I spent an afternoon in the sun on the beach with a very nice gal from the 43160, before leaving with the CB for WV, the Blue Ridge and DC.
I also noticed the link in your signature for the first time and clicked to find the very nice blog that you have assembled. I read most all of it, but I will revisit it until I have read every word and seen every photo. I didn’t know Blue had a prior life as a big bore dragster!
Well done Dennis.

Per, good to see you’re getting out on the Brown, and good the the bike is OK on its first ride of 2026.
I’m looking ahead at the 10 day forecast and seeing Tuesday and Thursday as suitable for motorcycling.

Lash, you’re counting up as well.

Welcome Prokop, and don’t worry about where you ride, just ride as often as you can, it’s a great stress reliever. I only have 4 or 5 routes that cross over each other in places, but I like not riding on the freeway, so enjoy these roads that I know, and are fun to ride, especially on the different bikes I have. When I get bored with one route, I sometimes ride it in reverse (not reverse gear, that would be silly) and I am always amazed at how different the scenery looks when riding in the opposite direction.

Well done Dennis, Per and Lash, the weather for the next week looks good, so hopefully I’ll get another ride or two in soon. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Thanks Kevin.  The site is sort of a distraction for me.  Helps me relive fond memories, and gives me something to do when it cold and wet outside.

I was very impressed with Deer Creek.  There are several state parks with the same theme of having an earthen dam and recreational areas, but Deer Creek puts the others to shame.  Very nice place that I'll be sure to return to to explore some of the of points of interest.

In the pre-Deer Creek days, my older cousin and her pals talked about Rocky Fork near Hillsboro.
I have driven past Delaware a hundred times but I have never seen the lake.

I have driven past Delaware a hundred times but I have never seen the lake.

I've been camping and fishing at Rocky Fork many times.  It and Burr Oak near Glouster were my Dad's favorite state parks.  Pop loved to fish and always liked the parks that had a 10hp limit on boat motors.  That said, one early morning while fishing at Rocky Fork, it was very foggy with the warm water and cold air.  We are bobbing about in a small aluminum fishing boat and also on the lake was a high powered speed boat just ripping and roaring around in the fog.  I remember Pop moving us in closer to shore just for good measure.   ;D

Back then I had a very nice Nikon camera and remember one very nice photo I took of Dad at Rocky Fork, I should look through the scrap boxes and see if I can find it!

Well just like everyone else I  haven't been able to log in, buuuuuuut I did get ride #8 done for 167.9 miles. Went to 2 different preserves, one in the mountians in Oak Glen and the other inthe desert at Whitewater. Plus I delivered some things my wife forgot for her sewing retreat. It was a perfect day for a ride !

I am afraid I will get locked out again so this is the short version. I will try to update later with some pics. It seems I can only look at one thread then I get booted, hope this gets fixed soon I have been blacked out for 4 straight days plus a few partial day issues.

It looks like you guys are starting to turn the rides out, so I think the 1 week expiration should br lifted until the log on problem gets fixed.
