Consortium of CB750 Cam Information
« on: January 12, 2026, 09:35:53 AM »
I am trying to determine the best semi-budget drop in cam for my turbo EFI Hondamatic, Not really too familiar with cam specs outside of generalities, but I saw Kenny had a lot of cam info posted on his website so I compiled it all into an excel sheet with some generic comments and am hoping to fill out some of the missing info.

Specifically for me though, I am looking for a torque focused drop in cam, which should be able to run slightly higher lifts than stock since I am running the 836 flat head pistons with a .050" copper base gasket, somewhere in the 7.7:1 CR. With the turbo, I know generally less overlap is preferred to not blow the charge through the cyl, but regarding lift/duration I am kinda at a loss outside of bigger is better for big HP. See the attached Excel sheet and feel free to throw out some info if you have it!
Young, Dumb, and Broke, hoping to fix 2 of those.

There is one thread where details were up about this. 836 + turbo.
I remember that a DP/RC295 cam was too wild for a turbo ;D

A while back I was told that the stock F2-3 cam works well with a turbo, it had to do with the 111* lobe centers. I've planned to use one but now I have the F2 engine to match it.
I'm using an ATP setup with a spider header and late version intake on a B25-301 Rajay turbo. My plan is a big Mikuni to replace the Zenith/Bendix carb.

Engine masters did some tests on blower and turbo motors and discovered whatever works without a blower also works with one. Specific blower cams worked but standard performance cams did also. Richard Holdener "all cams are blower cams"

If we could get Richard interested in SOHC that would be super cool :-).
