Favorite honda model gas tank
« on: May 21, 2007, 05:25:27 AM »
I was going to set this question up as a poll, but there are so many different Honda model tanks in circulation that I would be sure to leave a few off the list.

In considering other tanks to adapt to my CB500 project, I have been looking at a few other Honda models, and I have come to conclude that my favorite design tank is that of the early CB900 custom. Great lines, and the honda wings really set it off. Now if I can just find a clean one for less than a small fortune..... ???

Hey gregwaits,

I actually have a spare tank from a 1981 CB900 custom but I`m guessing you`re looking for the "F" model tank. Unfortunately, I`m located in Nova Scotia, Canada.  I`m only about 2500 miles from you.  ;D

I`m not sure of the condition or emblems, I have it in storage, the first chance I get I`ll check the condition of it.

CB400/4

CB350 Four and early 350 Twin with knee pads

CB450K1

CB200T (This tank polarizes people.  They either love it or absolutely hate it)

CB500K or 550K0 (with the 500 decal pattern)

CB750K with the early "viking helmet horn" decal design.

There are others, but the above tanks are a nice smorgasboard of my tastes.

             Sam & Chris,

Man, you guys seem to have your own kind of show going on. ::) ;D Sam, do you really think I didn't know what model Honda that was you posted? I wasn't sure about the model of it until I met up with you sometime back. ;D I knew the bike when I saw it though. ::) With a little educating from you and I have been enlightened. ;) You're really getting a kick out of your newfound talent of posting pictures, aren't ya? ;D

To be perfectly honest I didn't even notice that that particular CB92 only had one mirror and I wish I'd seen that your CB95 had only one mirror also. ;D Not that I'd have rubbed it in or anything. ;D

I have to say that I do think that the CB92 and the CB95s have a very cool gas tank! 8) ;)

I tried to post that pic last night but could'nt, I had to get one of the wiz kids to help and it took him ages ;D ;D ;D

You cheated on knowing it was a 95, you saw the writing under the piccy ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

You can only tell them apart by the larger fins on the head just above the exhaust port.
