I'll second 6pk's 750F. I really like the fact that he's kept it near original in appearance and in good shape for all of these years. It's obvious that an owner "loves" his bike when they keep it true to it's original form. The cafe bikes just hit me as works to make the bike something it never was and never will be - a cafe racer.
I love seeing the bikes as they were. If someone really has talents and ability out of this world - I'll always give appreciation for same, but it's got to be true creation, not copy.
Go the originals!

That's a bit harsh Gordon
Just because the look of the finished items do not appeal to you personally, doesn't mean you can say people like Doug, DME, Stevie Mac, et al don't love their bikes
When you look at the amount of time, effort and money they've put into them, I'd say the opposite is obviously the truth.
Besides, if they were never intended to be racers, how did the CRs come about
Well said ChrisP. Others are entitled to their own opinions of what they like and don't like of course, but there is too much genealization in most of the opinions... (especially when it comes to original vs cafe vs chopper, etc.) and that is what I have the problem with. Don't like a bike? Fine, say it, but don't make generalzations about an owner (unless you personally know them) and worse yet, owners of similiar type bikes or mindsets.
I've heard Cafe owners, 'Don't love their bikes', 'don't appreciate their history', etc. All BS! While it may be true in some cases, these generalizations cannot be applied to all.
I love and appreciate all motorcycles. I love history, but I'm also tend to be drawn to the racier side of things. CB's were the sportbikes of their day. People cafed bikes to 'try' to make them better and to look more like race bikes. Today, the factories do it for us. I take it people are still attracted to the look of vintage race bikes or they wouldn't be creating cafe bikes.
I love the looks of the cafe bikes, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the original bike. I was actually going to nominate BobW's CB this month, but someone beat me to it.
I think someone already seconded it... so if it needs a third... I third it.
