Fark the screw in type!

Anyone have a verdict on a replacement one with tabs that's worth a damn?

The Mairers just look like crap.  It just not right.

I got the originals sealed up some place in the basement with sun fade.  I got a nasty cover on the oil tank ($15) to keep the heat off me.  I got another pair ($40) with all tabs that I plan to paint.  I'm sure I'm not the only one doing this.  That's why the price is up there.  IT's probably the most likely part that will never loose it's value. k4

Has anyone used Penetrol on a side cover?

I searched for almost 2 years looking for a mint left side cover for a 77/78 F model. Got one on eBay for $70. I have gotten four sets of excellent 1971-1976 K versions in the $60-$80 a pair range, again on eBay. Patience is a virtue.

I would recommend a set in the Dennis Kirk style. The price is right, as of 2 years ago, and the plastic is sturdy enough to handle whatever body work you might want to do. The plastic is black abs, the anchors are set up like a hollow wall anchor instead of flimsy plastic tabs to insert, and the holes are undrilled to allow a little bit of preadjustment. The ones I have from DK have the original scoop that flows up to the stock airbox, which next time I paint them Ill shave the xtra plastic off to show a little more color of the frame.

I can't seem to find them on Dennis Kirk- where oh where are they?

Just looked for mine to make sure theyre still there.

Selected metric bike, searched by bike, 78 750k,
clicked on bodywork
2 styles of maiers came up, $28pc

Dennis Kirk was my spank mag for many years but theyve been closing out our older bikes for the past 5 years....
