I had my FNL's 750K to 100 and it felt like 200. It didn't instill confidence in me so I eased off. Now my other bikes are not SOHCs but I've had all three of my V4s to 150 and I chickened out.

Best flatout was over 150mph on a motorway (highway in US speak) on a highly tuned Kawasaki ZX10.
Most hilarious was certainly no more than 70mph two up on a early 250 Superdream with chinese tyres around the TT circuit on the Isle of Man chasing another pair of idiots on a Yamaha RD250, yes the air-cooled one
Most satisfying was probably around the TT circuit again two up on a BMW R80GS, back in the paddock even the racers were impressed with the state of the well scrubbed back tyre, right out to the edge and very marbly.

My friend let me ride his CBR1000RR, tucked in and got her up to a comfy speed on the highway.

9,000 rpm or so, it was a glance after passing a car at warp speed....somewhere around 150 mph.

Had a hayabusa before my cb750. I saw about 180 on the speedo but read that it was a little optimistic. That thing was still pulling hard, i had full underwear and had to let off.
I got the cb after my second kid and I decided it was too fast and easy to get stupid. No need for my kids to lose a father.
The cb I've had to 105-110. Much safer! The "lack of power" keeps me a little more grounded.

2011, i did 280km/h on a freshly tuned 1990 Yamaha fzr1000 at about 11,200 rpm in top gear (5 speeds on that fzr) on my way to Margaret River from Perth. Felt like my helmet was getting sucked off my head. Still wish I didn't sell that bike.... I've had an '85 VFR up to 130 something and a 2003 Yamaha r6 I know from experience can do at least 140 in 4th gear

I should add that my FZR had two sizes too big rear tyre, marching Pirelli Diablo Rossi Corsas that wore out in about 7,000 kms
I can't promise that the speedo was accurate at that speed, but I think I remember that I wasn't quite topped out/bouncing the needle on the gauge. And I was disappointed... But there was no use trying to kill myself to reach the bike's limit or risk a roo bouncing out of the bush onto the road to vaporise me

143 on my old '98 CBR600 F3... didn't look at the revs.  As soon as my rear tire bounced from a buckle in the road surface, I decided that was the end of the high speed runs. It was truly a heart stopper.

My track 2007 R6, 167 or 172mph, can't remember which one it was. Even though it was controlled, I have zero desire to ever do that again.

About 100MPH at about 1/2 throttle on my 71 CB750.  Maybe one day I will have a track day and find out where it will stop

Probably on your arse mate, old CB750's don't like race tracks too much.......... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I did a 160 mile ride on Monday evening on my (new to me) 1995 BMW R1100GS, and saw the wrong side of the "ton" several times, but as I was only wearing a T shirt and jeans (and a helmet, of course) I had to keep reminding myself to slow down. ;D

Off topic but, since I had to answer to others I will mention this here to clear up a little confusion.

In the above I mentioned my "track R6" which was a 2007 R6 with different sprockets. I never said it was done at a track, it was simply my track toy. Please look up what these motorcycles are capable of, especially being slightly off with sprockets. Numbers do not lie.

Whomever would like to dicsuss in further, please pm ME.

Of course you do. Cowards start drama via PM's like little girls.

No one is trying to impress anyone, what was the purpose of this thread? To ask the top speed one has performed, was it not the purpose of it? I gave my .02 foolish cents on my own experience. Look up the motorcycle, it's capable to do so, there is nothing to impress about twisting a throttle in a straight line FYI. Just wanted to make that clear. If you'd like to talk more, please PM me as previously mentioned.

You are a coward, let's make that clear.

When referencing via PM, I was referring to you sending PM's to others, parties who aren't involved. GO RIGHT TO THE SOURCE.

There is no fabrication, you don't like me, I don't like you, let's also make that clear. You want to continue living your life trolling posts after posts after posts, where will that get you? If you don't like something I say, please, I encourage you to be man enough to send me a PM to discuss like matured adults. Until then, please stop trolling every single thing I say on here, get a life.

But you made the same basic disavowal and explanation of prior statements in three different threads...what are you, a politician?  Really lonely this weekend and wanting some hot pm action?  Early new years resolution?  Something is fishy here...
