Damn I really really am having the urge to beat your brother senseless.

Course he doesn't seem to have any to begin with so maybe it wouldn't take much.

+1 they both need a foot in the ass

Well, I'm back again, actually I was back Friday and had planned to go back down Saturday, but my plans were quickly changed! :( You see, wa (a buddy and myself), went down Friday, with a Uhual trailer, to load up some furniture and planned to return, put the furniture in the room and turn the trailer in that evening. We had come back, left the trailer at my house, gone to Fort Smith, went to Alltel and got the phone numbers temporarily suspended Got to pay the basic rate each month til contract runs out and will end up adding a line to MY Alltel account, for my Dad. ;) Cut off ALL their phones (and my Dad's, that they have). Fill up the gas tank on my van, called my Dad, to touch base with him (had a notion I needed to). He sounded upset and told me he had a paper that I needed to read. Yeah, After I had left the hospital (n our way back) SHE (Skank) had gone there, stuck her Goofus head in the room and simply said "Hi" and left. She was just verifying that my Sas was there s he could be served about the "Lawsuit for Guardianship"! >:( So, I had to call to see if Karla's worker could get her home and that was no problem. I needed to get some things from WalMart for them at the house and Karla's worker took care of that too! ;) 8) So, with that taken care of, I quickly headed back down to the hospital. Got there and found that Dad was indeed served with the papers on the Guardianship Lawsuit. >:( Later that night, my Dad was taken for some CT scans, heart started racing and the Doctor ordered that he be taken to ICU. Late that night, after the Doctor had checked the scans over, I was told that my Dad had an anurism in the stomach area, that was in a bad place. He had been passing a little blood and it seems to be coming from the anurism. :( Next thing I know, I'm told that Dad and I need to talk about what measures, if any, will be taken, when the anurism burst. :(  I have to say, I didn't handle that too well. At least I held my own in front of Dad and the other folks in the ICU. That was a VERY long night. :'(  Dad made it though okay. He seems to accept things pretty well though. They are working to lower his blood pressure and keep his oxygen levels up. Also, using a "thickener" in his drinks, to help ensure that the fluids go into his stomach and not into his lungs. He said it doesn't seem to change the taste. He still has the possibility of the anurism bursting, but everything else is going well enough  that the Doctor might release him to me tomorrow (Wednesday). Now come some more bumps in the road. The "Golden Years Village" Retirement Home has TWO things that a resident must be able to accomplish. They must be able to go to the bathroom by themselves and be able to get out of the building in 3 minutes. :-\  Well, before July 27th, he could do those things. Now, he's going to have to work up to it. Also, I had to go the see our lawyer today and pay for past services along with paying his "Retainer" for this "Episode" that Skank is putting Dad (and us) through. I am SO tired, it's a good thing I don't have a gun!!!!!!!! >:(
You might think that that's not my usual way of thinking, and you are right. I am just so sick and tired of the way that they have been Jerking my Dad Around and all this has had an effect on my Wife, My Daughter, James (the young man we work with) and ME!!!!
If you will, Pray for my Dad and Pray that I don't do something stupid! >:(

I've got some more (not bad stuff though), but I need a break and just need to back off and settle down some, you know? :(

Darn Bill...it seems like you take 2 steps forward and then they push you 4 steps back! Rest assured you continue to be in all of our thoughts!

Be strong (as you have been) and keep your faith. It's not worth doing something stupid...now if there was a couple of large members of this forum from around your area that might be another story. Nothing too ilegal but it never hurts to have a few large men showing up at your door dressed in leather telling you to back off....maybe then S and S would get the hint!!

Guys, Just know that every single response that you all make, might not get an exact answer, but they are ALL noted by me and I read every word of them, appreciating them all!

Didn't get any sleep Friday night, as you might expect, wasn't sure that he'd make it through the night. Gotta tell you that I was doing a lot of Talking To The Lord about all kinds of things. Finally did get a little nap here and there. Monday evening, I laid back for a nap at about 8PM and sleep for about 4 hours (woke up about midnight), went to my Dad's house, to get cleaned up and return. On the way there, stopped in the little town nearby, to get me a coke out of a machine and a local cop pulled up to make sure it wasn't just some kids. I got to talking to him about my situation (needing to get my Dad's things back from my brother David  (mainly his van and billfold for now) and was quizzing him on the Sheriff's Dept and who to talk to. Well, of course he recommended talking to the Sheriff (Scott) or the Chief Deputy (Mike) or I might just want to talk to a Deputy named Ed (He's known for going up and telling folks "You might want to cooperate by giving up the property or " Getting A Mudhole Stomped In Your A_ _!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I told the Perryville cop that Ed sounded like just what I was looking for! 8) I was getting ready to get with the Sheriff's Dept, when I found out that my Dad might be released Tomorrow. :o  I sure am hoping that this "Guardianship Thing" will be recognized for what it is AND be dismissed WITH prejudice.

BTW, the Discover Card has been inactivated and I was told that, if I get a statement with what appears to be "Fraudulent Charges", just notify Discover Card and they will take care of it. ;)

Also, I WAS up to about 200lbs before this started getting bad and last night, I weighed after a shower and I was down to 175! I was beginning to wonder why my pants were suddenly starting to be a bit hard to keep up.

I will be So glad when I don't have to be concerned about my Dad getting wound up because they were in the area or because they are still trying to put him away and get his money and things. There has to be a way to get them for harassment, or something! >:(

Hey Bill, 25 lbs of unplanned weight loss is quite a bit.  Please be sure that you're keeping up your own nutrition.  We don't want you getting sick just for lack of sleep or poor nutrition.  Stress really can put you at greater risk for illness and injury, so take extra care!  I know that seems impossible; but it is absolutely necessary.

Hang in there.  Many folks are praying for your Dad and your entire family.

Hang in there bill...you know that you are in everyones thoughts and prayers...hell just to make things quite clear to everyone as to the effect that being part of this group and being part of the group supporting Bill has had on me. Before this entire thing started i had basically turned my back on my faith as a Christian.  After this started and after carver passed away i started into the routine of praying in the hospital chapel every sunday shift.

Thanks for that, medic. I was not eating very regular (sometimes, a meal consisted of a diet coke and a small bag of Peanut butter M & M's and some of my breakfasts were simply a diet Coke and a Honeybun), at first, and sleep was something that I did, as I could. I will have to say that there were times that I ate lunch (a fairly decent one) at about 5 or 6PM and got supper at about 11PM. Not very good timing, huh? Fortunately, I managed NOT to fall asleep while driving. Although I have to admit that I DID have trouble a few times, while on my way back home (I'd crank the radio up, if it was on because I spent a lot of time talking to God and some time talking to my Mom, my Sister and my Grand parents, all who are gone now).

Thanks, just for being there,   Bill ;)

Thanks Chris, the whole crew has really helped just by my knowing that the support is there. Some folks just don't know how much that kind of support helps. Just a kind and/or supportive word means so much.

I`ve said it before and i`ll say it again mate..
Look after yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If something happens to you who is going to keep your dad out of skank and co`s hands? who is going to look after YOUR family?
Look after yourself or you cant look after them.
I know its stressfull and you HAVE to be here or there at a particular time but take care mate.
look after yourself and you look after them all, i`m sure theres a lot of folks that will miss you if something happened to you, theres your family, your father, us here and god knows how many other folks hold you dear.
And theres the fact the skank and co will be clapping their hands together if something happened to you, you dont want to do something for them do you?

Maybe its time for some of us SOHCers to make a road trip to deal with skank and co?

Not sure about you guys but i suspect S and S seeing something like this out their front window would tend to make them think twice  about continuing with their methods...

I'm with Medic on this one.  25 lbs is way too much to lose without trying.  I'm taking a harder stance, though.  Go see a doctor.  This sounds like a lot more than stress or eating poorly.
Go metric, every inch of the way!

+1 with the other guys Bill, you have to take care of yourself to be able to care for your dad. When my daughter's situation came up, everyone on her medical team stressed to us over and over how important that is. It's not easy, but try to get nutrition, rest, and even try to step back and do something you enjoy now and then. You will not only be helping yourself, you will be helping your dad because you will have your head screwed on a little straighter, so to speak.

I'm going to buck the crowd and say that losing 25 lb in a month and a half isn't all that bad for an active person who isn't overeating and expending energy daily.  I've been 205 lbs and that was overweight for me at 5'11".  My goal is 175 which I haven't been able to attain for several years, (though I got close at 180 for a while).
Anyway, it is more important what you eat rather than how much.  The body will break itself down to keep the brain fed properly, by first going after stored fat, and then it goes after muscle mass.  It's not selective about where it converts muscle mass, and the heart tissue is where the most risk is.  A lean body is a good thing.  But, when that is achieved.  More caloric output than intake causes damage.  So, make sure you get some protein in your diet, even if it is only jerky.  Vegetables won't hurt either, and fiber will help keep bowel stagnation limited.
You already know that simple sugars and carbohydrates aren't supposed to be a main dietary staple.  These are convenience foods for sellers and barely a food at all for buyers.

Don't underestimate fluid intake as beneficial.  Water is actually quite good for you.  It's pretty difficult to drink too much of it.

Best wishes to help you through your ordeal(s).

I can't remember if I said it in this thread, I think it might have been the thread about Jay's daughter. Well, anyhoo, years back I took a first aid course in order to be a team leader for freshman orientation camping trips. Well, I forgot all but two things from that course. First, if you put a tourniquette on someone, you are supposed to dip your finger in some of the blood and put a big "T" on their forehead. Not really useful for daily living.

The second thing I learned, and this is important, what is the first thing in First Aid? The first thing in First Aid is **make sure you are OK**, because if you don't do that, you aren't worth much to anyone else. Take care of yourself, Jay, or you won't be worth as much to your dad.

Is THAT what you might call, "The Real Thing?" ;D ;)

Really and truly, he was the Ghost Rider of the Apocalypse, and he could shoot jackrabbits at a distance, one-handed with a sawed off while speeding through the desert on his bike. He had two sawed off shotguns in holsters on his back so he could reach over his shoulder and draw them while riding.

Well, Dad was scheduled to come home today. I was running around getting things finalized so he'd have a decent place to go too! Called the hospital to see how he made it through the night. They said he made it just fine, but his blood count had dropped some and they were giving him 2 units of blood. That meant he wasn't coming home today. Sorry that he wasn't coming home yet, but glad they discovered it when they did. So, we're trying for tomorrow. ;) Also, I was pushed by the Doctor, to get my Dad to deal with the 'Living Will Thing'  :( I had tried to explain the choice he needed to make, several times. I'm not too good with that sort of thing and therefore wasn't too good at telling him what he needed to know. Finally, I just blurted it out and he told me that I was getting everything! I said, Dad, I'm talking about the "Living Will" and he said, I know and you are getting everything, INCLUDING me! So, whatever decision you make, is what I'll go with. I just looked a him. Finally, I told him that I knew he didn't want to be put on a Ventilator (Doctor said that he'd never come off of it! :( ) and so, with that in mind, I said that I guess we needed to put DNR (Do Not Resusitate) and then I told him that he knows I have a hard time with that and he just said, I know, but I have you to make the decisions that will b best for me and I know you will do a good job. :'(  Man, that was hard for me to tell the Doctor, but it felt kinda good when the Doctor patted me on the back, smiled and said that a MAN wants to go ahead and not be a burden on the family. I'm sure not looking forward to that day, except to know that my parents will once again be together.

Bill, i know firsthand how hard it is to have to make that decision BUT doing what your parent wants when that time comes is worth the heartache it may cause now. i was between tampa and hartford every weekend for the month that my mom lived after her stroke fighting the docs just about every step of the way because they wanted to put a feeding tube in her, mom's speech was pretty much totally garbled after the stroke but as i was walking down the hallway that saturday evening i could very clearly hear #$%* no you #$%*s! lol cracked me up that mom could still swear like a sailor after all she'd been through. it was very very hard on me when mom passed but i felt right knowing i did the right thing for mom.

Thank you for the insight on your own experience fuzzy, my Mom had the same feeling about "when the time comes" and she had my Sister to help her and my Dad through Mom's passing. She would have been there for me too, but I was more concerned about how my Dad was going to take my Mom's passing and wanted Margaret to concentrate more on Dad. Then about a year after my Mom passed on, Margaret was gone also! :'( Of my immediate family, my Dad and I are the only 2 (excludes David) left. :( At least I will have my own family, when Dad's time comes)  I just hope that we have enough time left, to enjoy some "Quality Time" with my Dad. There's so much I'd like him to see and do. I WILL do my best NOT to waste any more time than I can help! ;)
