Shameless Post Boost Thread II ~ PICTURES
« on: March 15, 2008, 10:36:57 AM »
It's raining.  Thinking about hanging some pictures got me thinking maybe we should have a random picture thread.  Post art, pets, bikes, where you live, the art of the Can of Beans At Dusk- whatever.
Narrative optional.

My house (and why it's hard to hang new pictures);

Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

Well shoot.  How did this happen, and how do I get rid of one?

Matt- how did you got those pictures on that way?

great idea ernie...

i will suggest that whenever possible we try to host our pix elsewhere so where not using up our own storage.   ;)

so, since its snowing hard and even harder in the mountains, the people i am doing a remodel for called and told me not to worry about getting up the mountain today to where they live.  seeing that... i thought i would shamelessly plug  what i do to make a living.
here is the remodel i've been working on as of late...

this is the start of the remodel... you can see a walkthru to the bathroom w/ a small laundry area to the left as you walk thru.
this walkthru had a new wall constructed to separate the space into a pantry and to enlarge the bathroom

this is the new pantry

custom made shelving and all new finishes

the old tub and toilet... you can see in the next picture where the new placement for the toilet will be on the other side of the bathtub faucet wall

here is the bathroom mid-demolition... you can see the new wall next to the big hole in the wall furthest from the camera.  (the new pantry is on the other side of this newest wall)

the floor came down to the joists to install new in-floor heat

a computer generated SketchUp preliminary design that i offered to the owners

and finally, a nearly complete bathroom... it is missing the shower head escutcheon and some other finer details but looks mostly complete in the pictures... except you can't see yourself in the vanity mirror  ;) ;D

thanks for looking  :)

Sooo, how much for that van mate? I can see myself in that! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

bring your own engine - it doesn't have one anymore. :D

But seriously, if you've never driven a '69-'74 Ford Econoline.... you probably wouldn't like it.

Imagine a few meters of soggy pasta......

now imagine the soggy pasta connecting the steering wheel to the front wheels.

if the trans was a stick, the shift linkage would be worse.

there was a thread a while back where someone was commenting on loose steering in a pickup of similar vintage - they got nothing on the vans.

Awww man, free? Geez I've had a worked small block 351 Cleveland sitting in my mother in laws garage for 20 years, looking for a host vehicle? Do you live anywhere near Sean? If we could wheel his sporty into the back of that van, ooooer! ;D

A Cleveland?!? I knew a guy who swapped a (much smaller) 351 Windsor into one. He must have wanted that really bad! The hole is just barely wide enough for a 302 and anything else requires serious grafting. A 351C wouldn't leave you any room for the pedals! ;D ;D ;D

edit... Actually, that pic doesn't show what happened to the van when I came around a curve in the Bend Parkway at about 60 45 and found a good sized muley doe in the middle of my lane, the concrete divider to the left, and some yuppie in a suv to the right. That's why the engine went in Gary's pickup and the body is going to the mill. oh well.

that's a start  ;)
the people that i'm doing this remod for also employ me enough that i really could really call them full time employers... seeing that, they've nearly permanently lent me their '03 hemi dodge 2500  ;D  AND  THEY PAY ME ;) 8) ;D

if you are serious... i am willing to travel and spend some time away... not months turning into years, but a month or so wouldn't be terrible.

wanna help me do it?  sure, man... i'm all about that too.

They're taken by my brother in law, he probably snapped about 300 pictures that day.  I only picked the ones I liked the best (either because of composition or because they had ME in them  :D), but I'm sure I could get the whole collection to post for ya...  ;D
