Those are just under $650!!
must be a sandcast  ;D ;D ;D
I've seen whole bikes that look like that case, usually the owners are asking people to take it away, or offering 20.00 with the bike to get rid of it!!

Looks like someone pissed in the oil tank back in the 70s and it never got cleaned out.  You can almost smell it from here.

Okay, first of all, we need to figure what lake he fished this thing out of and then agree to never go fishing there. Obviously, the pollution in this lake is effecting his mind.

Wow. You have got to be kidding me. The tensioner I pulled out of my K8 engine is a thousand times better than that one and I'm probably going to throw it away.

Let's see... We've got the pistons:

Not one salvagable part in all his auctions. It must have been torn down first then submerged for 20 years. You would never get a motor like that apart.

Its not worth the ebay listing fees.

Cases are already at $650. Hope the studs and pins can be removed without taking half the case with it :P ???

EDIT:  Nice ugly break at the final output shaft. That's gonna be one expensive engine when the buyer is done building it.

I looked at the auction..

All I can say to you guys is..

Dont even take even a minute to consider ever owning or building an early bike.. cause most of you simply dont have the stomach...

Unfortunately, on early bikes( and I do mean 30 or 40 yrs older), this is pretty normal stuff. Now i realize most 60,s parts are in way better shape, but these are hard to find, hence the bidding.

And I dont know why you jump all over the seller, he obviouslly did not start it at that price, and it may simply be the market speaking..

As to the cam tensioner..he wants 5 bucks.. dont like it dont buy it.. will check part #, see if they are different in early ones.

The aluminium is all oxidised and "rusted" to hell. There will be major weaknesses all through the casting. The new owner might get it to a reconditioned state, sort of, but it's 99 percent sure the whole thing will break apart within the first 5 miles on the road.

It's a write off.

That's a bold and assumptive statement. You have to be able to know when something CAN"T be salvaged....that takes some skill. I know I can't turn #$%* into ice cream......maybe someone else on the board is privy to that trick. If you don't know the difference I'd recommend a person stay away from any restoration too. Better add ebay to that last statement.
