brown plastic shaving in oil screen -k8

its about an inch or so of brown shaving ,it curled up to the size of a finger ring when it sheared off inside the motor,sort of a see through brown plastic composite material,,,any idea where it could of came from?,,,thats all i found in the screen,the oil screen otherwise was spotless ,engines insides are super clean, has 17,000 miles,i just pulled the motor out of the frame today going to give it a good cleaning ,,have a spare frame i just bead blasted and primered,,,don't know how to post pics yet, Im using a public PC,,,thanks

Plastic shaved off the cam chain guide / roller?
