I got my rear hub off my bike and thinking is there any sense in painting the center black? I've seen it on some bikes, I guess there would be no worries having to get in there and clean it. Grease and grim not being as visible...

Can anybody post pictures of bikes with this done?

Black hub with black rims

Oh yeah ignore the crappy chrome fender it is now 10 inches shorter and painted black

Don't get me wrong I love his early bikes, but.....

I believe his fabrication days have gone the way of OCC, if you catch my drift.

Besides, don't some of his tanks seem derivative of the 78 CX500 design with it's great curve, knee dents and width?

I might have to look into stretching a cx500 tank for my 78f build, I wonder how much of a project that would be. I was going to default to Carpy's Dunstall tank because it's the closest to the style I want but now I'm not so certain. To each their own on Benjie, I just don't like the look.

Speaking of Cafe stying, there is one thing I really dont like..

I luv how the reverse cone megs looked on a stock Norton in the 70s.. coming out at a low angle..
But when I see them at a 40 or 45dgree angle, they make me wanna hurl...

That Goodson Harley with the funny intake comes to mind.

Dont know what it is, but as the angle on that type of muffler come higher , I just cant look at them very long..

IMO sharply angled pipes in general should be reserved for bobbers/choppers.

Nope, looks OK on that one..
 2 reasons. ,
a  broken line, not straight, and 2 different diameters.. IMO the black portion becomes less visible being black & matches the frame line..

I'll take a chance posting pics of a v-twin. I like the clean, simple lines of this one - less is more somtimes.

Saw this one on Jockey Journal, sorry if it's already appeared.  They called it a "Sporton," but I think I like Nortster better.  Maybe a Norley?

That's bloody amazing.  I can't believe the bike stayed upright like that. I'll have to try that some day...

Maybe not.

I dont think I buy that. I can buy the fact that the bike could right itself, but I see no reason that he would just fall off. looks set up to me.
