I don't know that Mel had anything to do with it Gordy.

Oh yeah, nothing at all to do with it.  Other than playing the starring role, that is. ::) ;D

Nah mate, I meant that he didn't have much to do with the "squeezing more money out of it" suggestion you made.

As I thought I'd pointed out, he was still a little known actor anywhere else but here in Oz, and had no financial interest in Kennedy/Miller, the creators/producers/directors of Mad Max.

I don't think he made much money out of the those movies (certainly not the first one) but they certainly helped kick start his career in the US.  ::)  ;D

What the fark is "The Road Warrior"? Oh, that's right, that's what "Mad Max" was called in the US...............  :P

Mad Max was called Mad Max. The Road Warrior was the first sequel and Beyond Thunderdome was the second.

Only in the US mate, out here it was Mad Max 1 and 2, and the third was called "Beyond Thunderdome". Here's a quote from Wikipedia:

"The original film spawned two sequels: Mad Max 2 (known in North America as The Road Warrior), and Mad Max 3 (known in North America as Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome). A fourth movie, Mad Max 4: Fury Road, has been considered but has not been produced." Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Actually mel gibson never intended to try out for the role.
He was interviewed a few years ago and he said he had been in a pub fight the night before and had three shades of #$%*e beaten out of him, he went to pick up one of his mates that was auditioning for a part in the movie and one of the casting people saw him and said "You are perfect, and you like we wanted him to look. You must have gone to a lot of trouble to get the makeup right" lol.
A career the size of his was started by a pub fight :D :D :D :D

...Interesting series altogether and the source of most of our knowledge about the people and culture of Australia.

I will wholeheartedly support the people and culture of Australia, if this is in fact the case.

I with Kghost, you should have taken it out for one last
long ride.  ;D

Ya know, I probably would have done just that except most of my "off" time is now take up by our 4 month old boy, and he's still a little too small to take on the back of a bike! ;D ;D

As soon as his feet can reach the pegs, he's right there with me!! :)

Martha used to get upset with me when I'd take our son out for a bicycle ride when he was little, as he'd fall asleep and I 'd come home with his head lolling to one side. I started attaching a couple of bungee cords to his little helmet and fixing it to the back of his seat. Worked like a charm! It's amazing what can be done with a little creative thinking and some common household items.

It'll be fun to take your kid out for a ride when the times ripe. Maybe you can even hit him up for some gas money!

It's tough selling stuff to a friend and not feeling like you shorted yourself, but hopefully he'll bring you a taste or something to remind you why you like the guy in the first place.

You have no idea of the culture of Australia. Unless you come from Texas. Tough units those Aussies.
