Hey Squirley,
if you don't mind me asking.. whats the ride height of your seat now?
I love the rake of your bike.. but god wasn't nice to me the leg department.. wondering if I have the lenght to pull it off? HAHAHAHA

Not so much tank slappers, but shaking when you're coming out of a corner and get on the brake, or under hard acceleration.

no steering damper?

Rusty Olive, I will measure the seat height for you later this week...however, it is not that tall. I, as well, have been stuck with the short jeans in the family (father 6'4", me 5'8")
I can comfortably place two flats on the ground at once.
However, this will probably change when I make a proper seat pad for it

Industrial... no head shake on cornering and/or acceleration. It all feels pretty tight. My intentions were to put on a damper, but have yet to do so, and really haven't been under a situation where I think I would have benefited from one...but that may change.

OH!? Awesome dude!! thats not as tall as it appears in the pic's.. I'm 5'7" so it'll be a little bit of a stretch but not bad.. lol don't change the seat dude.. it looks cool being just a raw butt pad! .. unless of coarse it hurts? LOL
dam i wish i was down in Cali.. I'd love to see your bike in person. Is it a keeper or you like me.. build, ride for month.. sell to fund the next build? though I'd have to say.. if that bike was mine.. it'd be a keeper! LOL

How's that 650 cam treat'n you? still wondering if I wanna pop one in..

Hi Squirly, i like the quicker steering as well, i just thought it may induce some head shaking having less trail. I will still run a steering damper, even if it is on the lightest setting. Good to hear it all works well..

I will keep all of you posted on how it handles as I progress with my riding style. As of right now, I am just taking things slow with it and treating like an unfamiliar bike. I will post comments as things change

Where did you get that riser for your rear shocks? Did you make it? Also what headlight is that?

I agree, Mick. I want to go with the 14.5 inch forks in the rear, and accept that the center stand will become "un-usable"....but I am worried about tank slap.....since I will be adding a fork damper, I'll just have to adjust it as necessary to keep those forks under control!!

This guy really has a knack for building nice bikes....I know this is a CB only forum, but I'm really jazzed about this triple Kawi smoker he is building!!

I wanted to use your gsxr front end conversion on my cafe project. I alredy aquired the front end and now I'm looking for a narrow glide wheel. I found one with bearings for a 3/4 in axle. So there is my question. Do you know if the narrow glide bearings for 3/4 in axle have the same OD as the gsxr bearing OD?

yes it does, it's 52mm OD.
you should have no problem.

contact havoc turbo for a great deal on GSXR bearings.

Konrad - Make SURE you find a late model hub assy (2k & later) that uses sealed bearings; anything else and you've got a paperweight.

Thank you guys for the info. Now I can proceed foreward with the project. Am I gonna have to modify the narrow glide hub in any way ( other than switching to gsxr bearings) to accept gsxr axle?

Nope.

Make sure you get the crush tube in there too. You can source it from HD or make your own.
