ahh, thanks everyone. glad you like my wife.
I think those carbs are off of a 750, very cool. I was wondering how those would adapt. I forget where I saw or read it but supposedly this is a good performance add-on for the 550's. Are those K&N pods? And if so where'd you get them? How long are those carbs, end to end?
More importantly, what's going on w/ that valvetrain?
the K&N's came from dynoman.net. i'd have to measure the carbs, but it's the shorter intakes of the 650 head that allow room for the pods to clear the frame if that's what your thinking. the top end is from a '79 cb650, and the SS lines you see are oil lines routed around the leaky stock path.
Lookin good Paul, without reading through back pages what have got planned for an exhaust?
I take it the 550 valve cover doesn't bolt-up. I've never heard why, can you enlighten me?
By the way, don't screw with us again with that NUDIE PICS stuff, dig??
you know brent, i honestly didn't give the valve cover too much of a go. i'll double check on the extra 650 head i have, but if i remember right there were just a few spots that didn't line up all that well. the exhaust will be a mac for now, with a homemade glass baffle.
Well, I certainly know a lovely lady when I see one! Of course, not much left to the imagination there.
Looks very nice!
(I thought only Harleys have to be hauled around in trucks?
)
now that's a good one!

i still have to do a little milling of the 550 rotor to make it fit properly on the 650 crank. easier to cart the bike to the machine shop than just the engine.
