I'm new here. Just recently bought my first bike. 1981 cb650c with 19xxx kms (12,000 miles) or so i thought.... turns out the speedometer cable was broken and I didn't even notice. has a carb problem (float needle not closing and puke out gas through the vent tube) and i'm losing brake fluid slowly. I don't know bikes but I know cars and luckily I work at the local Napa. there is a shop next door that used to do a lot of work on small engines. I'm just gonna ride it for the rest of the season and do some major work on it over the winter. K&N filter pods, MAC 4-1 exhaust, rebuild/re-jet the carbs, change the bar, grips, mirrors, and change the brake light and signals to LEDs (i hate the way the stock ones look.) Repaint the tank and side panels. Alot of work for someone who's never owned or worked on a bike.
