Nada, it was given to me for free. Granted... It was a basket case.

Now if I could fine a 20's motorcycle some one wants to give me basketcaset case or not.
Henderson, harley, super X, heck anything from that era....

and their so easy to modify, and beginner friendly(mechanically speaking) and they look good any way you wanna build them up. be it stock, cafe, bobber, or radical chopper. personally i think i'm gonna go somewhere between old school bobber and old school chopper, no radical rake or hard tail, just a solo seat, shorter shocks, forward controles, maybe mini apes and some nice mirrors and saddle bags. just something to have some fun with

Want some mini apes? Can have 'em real cheap ;) Fund my new bars.

I picked up my '75 550F for $450 in '06. I had the carbs rebuilt, valves adjusted and compression checked, plus grips added.

Now may be the time to feed my 550 the $.  :o

i got my 75 500f for 200 a month or two ago. it wasnt running but all it needed was a good carb cleaning( rusty tank) and possibly a tank but im salvaging this one. i could have had it running for the cost of fixing the tank but im going cafe and i am currently into it for 450 and i have every thing except for the seat, i just need to clean, paint assemble and all that. my goal was to keep it under 700-750 and crossing my figners il be able to.  im keeping a excel spreadsheet with everything that i have spent on it, right down to the sand paper and glue and i am also subtracting the sale of stock parts... what can i say im an accountant lol

My Dad owed me some favors and I needed something to work on other than computers so he gave me his bike to wrench on. As it was stored in boxes for 25+ years some assembly is required. The engine alone will probably set me back 600-800 to get it to where I want it to be. It'll be worth it in the end!  ;D

Maybe I overpaid last June when I picked up my '75 550 for $2,500. I did put a battery in it but that was it and it was in excellent condition with just over 6000 miles. I've put 3000 miles on it so far and it's never hesitated. Did I mention it looks beautiful? Came with a windshield, rack and backrest. Best of all, since getting it (my last bike sold 25 or 30 years ago), my son I have have begun working on average one day a weekend rehabbing a '73 Honda 360, a 67 Bridgestone 350 and doing a little work on his '73 BMW. And that time together, my friends, is priceless.

Both my 1970 750s for free. My dads was/is moving and since I got my license around the time he decided to move they worked out a deal and I got them for nothing. One needs to be rebuild the other is on the road.

;D ;D ;D ;D  Good to see I am not the only one dragging a trailer to the wrong side of town every weekend!  Is it wrong to buy a bike so the "owner" can buy some crack?  I guess that is why most of my PO's had shaky hands.

I got mine for free.... a friends brother gave him a '95 virago and he gave me his k8 with 17,125 miles (not running, as most of you know, and it still wouldn't be running if it were not for all the great folks on this site!)  i have spent about $350 on it...  new ignition, front pads, and tires

Paid $400 for my 78 CB750 F3. Right now I think I am in for another $1200 and just starting to put it all together. I would estimate I have another $1000 for what's left to do.
