The disks are made by Mark-O
I have or had them on my GS750 project.
Much better over stock stuff and a lot lighter too

Yes, they LOOK like Lesters, but they are Yamaha mags.
1) Lester
2) Yamaha

Lester's dont have the rib cast between the spokes, Yamaha's do. Lester's also have a groove on the outer rim (as shown in Red). Some early Lesters have the groove in 4 sections
The Yamaha speedo drive fits in the large opening in the front wheel UK pictured(CB is different and the bearing hole is smaller) and the Yamaha 4 bolt rear sprocket (RD,small XS-500,400,360) usually have a circlip on the center of the sprocket and usually dont have a (typical Honda Style) cush drive for the sprocket. The smaller RD/XS uses a bushing style cush drive (simular to the CB bottom shock mount on the swing arm- round bushing)

I finally got ny frozen trunk open on my car!!
And found 2 Kawi mags !!

One was mapked ASAHI

Note, there was 2 wheels, Both were smooth (no rib) between the spokes. Then I checked a Morris front, and it had a thin low rib, between the spokes,  like I had mentioned.

The easiest way to rell if you are looking a Morris or Kawi, check if the rib, running down the spoke center goes all the way to the machined rim portion, of it does, its Kawi..

Granted almost anything can be made to fit these old Hondas...but I don't see a lot of people using mags from other bikes from the same era.  Do y'all know of any examples of folks adapting yamaha or kawi mags for our bikes?

I would like to know too!

You can modify a lot of wheels to fit a lot of bikes, as long as bolt circles dont collide, then it gets real tough.

Do you have a specific wheel in mind ? If you can mesure bolt circles and offsets, someone may be able to tell you how doable it is.

If you take a wheel with rotors or sprocket intact, it is usually easier. Later model wheels though started using bigger hollow axles, which can lead to additional problems.

Machining time costs money though, it may not be for the faint of wallet. A lot of riders want new bike wheels/brakes but may not want to pay the price..

As I mentioned before togh the Yamamags that were pictured do share the disc bolt pattern with CB750, a resonable wheel to use.

Not sure which wheel is on the XS 750, but good chance it will work, use dividers to do a simple check, look at hub width, axle size and speedo drives(if you run a speedo)

I sold 12 or 16 Yamaha mags last month to  one person!!.. should have a few discs laying around..lol..

HavocTurbo, so can we deduce that CB750 rotor bolt patters are the same as certain Yamahas and certain Ducatis? If so, can you elaborate on which models?

BTW, does anyone know how to calculate a bolt circle using an odd number of points if the center can't easily be found? I didn't do very well in trigonometry!  ::) RR

I don't have the chance to measure it by myself,i don't know anybody who have these wheels.I know these bike have a rotor in the rear too,so i would need to change the rear to adapt the yamaha.

 I have a 750 K4.

Theres alot more to it than having "the same bolt patterns". Hubs are different thicknesses, different offsets, speedo drives are different, bearings can be different, etc. Rear wheels can be more involved.
Heres a link to an RD400 rear wheel modified to fit an XS 650. Bearings needed to be changed, spacers needed to be made and all had to work together with out any problems. Finding a Yamaha wheel to bolt on to a Honda with out any modification probably isn't going to happen. Like 754 said, machine works isnt cheap.

http://xs650temp.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=brake&action=display&thread=823

I've converted a front wheel (changed the rim to 18 inch, laced it to the front hub) and made the modifications to make it a rear disc brake and have it all work together. Many hours were put into this wheel and having it done by a machine shop would cost a bundle.
It's all in how much you want to spend to make it happen.
 Bolt on ?  Doubtful...
 Impossible ? Not at all..

RR, you are talking chord length, if you measure it accurately , you can find bolt circle, with a calculator. Tables ar in the Machinery Handbook and on line.

I assume you mean 5 bolt pattern?.. as 6 and 4 are pretty easy to measure on a bike..

I should post a Warning here, a buddy long ago bought a new CB750 Morris 16 inch rear, and used the Yamaha caliper and I think rotor.. now I posted they are the SAME bolt pattern based on this. (There is a very slight chance though he modded the holes slightly, but I think he said it fit right on)

I want to know if the bolt pattern is the same because i already have VTR rotors on my bike, and i want to keep these rotors. All the rest is part of the fun! ;D

Things then matter the most, make sure the center of disc is located by a snout or step.. after that, IF the bolt circle were a few mm bigger or smaller you can open them up with several methods, even a file.. and it will mount securely and safely.

I redrill many car wheels, and axles and really try to make sure that there is something in place to hold on a rotor or wheel if a few studs failed.. end result on a car is you can probably get stopped and use the wheel vs ..having it COME RIGHT OFF.. :o

I honestly do NOT know about yamaha and honda crossovers...

But just about any late 70's spoke rim from yamaha has the same bolt pattern as the 95 Ducati 900ss fromt rotors. Only down side is they are 320mm rotors. Plus you have to make a pattern spacer to slightly under 10mm to get them spaced right for fitment in the stock 900ss front forks.
