To cold to blast yet so we made her a roller again, sure is alot easier to move, Im happy with the frame, not to dull and not to flat. I will see what I came come up with next,luder

Drained a full tank of fuel out of her pretty old gas.............weather turned a little nasty so were not blasting, maybe strip the tank hmmm to many options

While the tank was draining I needed a engine stand, only had to add a few pieces to my shovelhead stand and we are off the ground,luder

Spent awhile polishing some pieces this afternoon, not perfect but a heck of alot nicer than she was, plenty of pits to sand out

You might consider shooting some clear on the valve cover. I had mine all polished up lookin' good and didn't clear it. Now it's started to corrode, can't remove it to re-polish.

Polished and cleared my side engine covers, they look great.

Can you post some pics of your cleared and polished bits please Art. I have been led to believe that clear dulls the polished alloy.

Don't have pics of the motor pieces but I did polish and clear the rear hub and brake.

I did no research on this product other than asking the guy at the paint store what would be good on polished aluminum.

I would have to think about cleracoating alum. I would ponder the point, but you might have to just keep her clean..got to remember shes old-like me....lol I am thinking we are thinking stock (diamond in the rough)on this one as she is pretty nice as she is. The more I look at the old gal I think I am going stock. I wanted a xs 650 yamaha for a bobber but this one just showed up. I dont have alot of money but I like to tinker, as long as we are here it bugs some friends as in what are you doing-but they have no clue. Buy they way build date 10-77 thats the month I went in the army and to think about the gt 550 suziki I hade when I went in-bummer-3 harleys later, and a virago bought new theres a mistake(think this one will be the great go back and forth do what you want to bike. 74 harley gone-76 harley gone-make a bike and give them to your babies............wow that would be cool, later luder-have to do one winter project a year-keeps you thinking

This is just self etching primer, we will put k36 urethane over the top-plenty of time to think about color, I was going to fill the badges in and go smooth but there in good shapeand around here you might have to spell honda out.

Not sure if I should of done this but my chrome will not clean up pretty pitted,blacked out the mount so the fender has a smooth line, paint to match the tank or frame not sure yet. ? for you all what mag style wheels can I paint up and mount without changing anything once again the wheels are pitted up bad. She is starting to clean up but alot to do yet. The gauges I can paint but the chrome on the bottom might be a pain, kind of thin, I will keep you posted, luder

Faced with this problem I have evey piece except a corner, super glued her together will plastic weld the back and reinforce it with mesh tape and some plastic bumper repair kit, maybe not worth it but I will let you know....luder

I was going to paint the lowers gloss black but they seem to be cleaning up fine. 16 here today 33 tommorrow, so seems I will be doing some more blasting, brackets and such, what do you guys think-gloss black handle bars as in my other pieces-to pitted.later luder

Had to be creative hanging all these up to paint, they are now sealed with epoxy primer and we will shoot them later.......by the way 30 pieces will be in this days work, now if I could only figure out what Im going to do to the wheels.......later luder
