Naw, the Virago was so hopelessly  japakneesed, that it was difficult to modify or work on. Could you imagine fitting a different motor into a Virago?.. try a 4cyl into a Virago :o

Now the Fury, acrually looks like a custom bike...you could stick a CB 750, or Triumph, or HD mill into it and it would look good.

 Just my Opinion..

I think Triumph gets the big picture better with their new TBird than Honda does with the Fury.
They've stuck this 1600cc mile-maker right where HD lives.
The price tag just 12k for Hinckley build quality and engineering and enough CC's and the right brand name to attract the HD/Victory crowd.
I predict this Thunderbird will be an "important bike" for Triumph.

There is no good reason to not sell that bike here. It looks awesome, retro is still cool, probably great on gas, and cheaper than a bonneville.

1 good reason to their marketing reps:
"It's not a Harley".

:P
If they saw how many comments we get on our bikes' classic good looks, they'd at least send a few over...

  • That'll do pig. That'll do.
I applaud them just for trying but....

1. The front discs need some work. I would rather have one with a 4 pot than 2 with singles.
2. Front fender needs to be extended and add another front support.
3. Tank needs a sharper horizontal definition and something about the emblem looks off.
4. Transition from the carbs to the airbox looks weird too.
5. They forgot to install a kick starter.

Ah forget it, if I had money to burn and wanted a "new" bike I will take it in the form of a restored "real" 750.

They don't call it a modren classic because it's a carbon copy of the old school. Triumph did it, Honda is jumping aboard is all.
