Those little "tangs" also reduce the steering lock so that you don't trap your fingers against the fairing when turning the bars. Low speed manouvreability sucks though!
my fingers did jam when turning the bars,it was on a 74 550.
Ben the fairing looks a little different than when I last saw it....thumbs up
The fairing feels like it stiks way out front... I need to mock it up with my triple tree and clubmans and make sure everything fits ok. Were there clubmans on the 550 that this came off or were they clip on?
On the bike in my avatar, one of my passengers famously stated (after a run to Brands for the Easter Transatlantic Trophy races) "It's like the Starship Enterprise from back here!"My bars were "Ace" bars (Clubmans)
QuoteBen the fairing looks a little different than when I last saw it....thumbs upThanks tjjkc. No bondo, but I laid fiberglass over a couple of the impact areas inside. Sandable primer covered up the tiny spider cracks on the outside very well. The fairing feels like it stiks way out front... At the end of the day, your hands shouldn't hit the tank on full lock or get trapped underneath the fairing on the opposite lock.My Rickman 750 traps your hands badly... Cool
Beautiful bikes RR & Steve. Thanks for posting. All are inspiration to complete mine. RR your pictures are helpful and it does seem very similar to how my bracket will hold the fairing.I'm going for the black look. The fairing is on an F3 after all...
