Need Help!!  I've just bought a 76 CB750, That was Garaged and not run for at least 10yrs.

It Has no brakes,  Clutch cable siezed, mabey more?

Other than stripping carbs, installing battery, new oils, rebuild brake master and caliper, checking wiring.
what would you recommend before trying to turn over, is there anything i should do to the engine like check valve adjustment's  :) Engine does turn with kickstart,

  • it will live
do a complete tune up

put a few drops of oil down the cylinders before you try to start it (first job to do before the tune up starts))

after the tune up of course with everything checked if everything is good then it should start....good luck

check list should be on here somewhere - search for one

Check the gas tank.  It may need a good cleaning

First thing I always do is pull the plugs and valve caps and give every hole a good dash of oil
before I turn it over, manually.   Head

A very common problem is electrolysis occurs on the points after sitting for a few years.  The bike will run, but not very well if you don't change them. Filing them doesn't work either because the electrolysis gets so bad from sitting for so long.  Save yourself the headache and replace them. I wish I had instead of wasting so much time trying to figure out why my bike wouldn't run well after going through everything. When I did replace them I was kicking my own a$$ for not replacing them sooner.

I've had a good look at your bike and I've come to the conclusion that you should sell it (to me).
