74 750 Touring FINALLY DONE!!
« on: May 21, 2009, 07:28:28 AM »
I disassembled it in the fall of 07' to repair an oil leak. Got sidetracked by the addition of a 3rd child, and finishing my basement.
One thing led to another.....I just need to reassemble my clocks to be 100%.
Thanks to everyone here for all their knowledge, especially "Cregg" who is in many pics with beverage.

Nice job, I like it! Nice business like stance, best hard bag set up I've seen.

Leading edge of the bag follows the shock angle, turn signals on the bags so the bags are up against the frame, nice contours on the lids.

Go somewhere!

Well done and great photos! I am hoping to do the same with my K4 in the Fall when SamCr sells me his black hard bags (looks just like yours) -I really like the way they look on your bike - and your great paint is excellent!!

Nice job! Now where are you going? ;-)
cheers
Andy

Thanks fellas... I still keep looking @ the pics.....It was a LONG time coming.... I restored my 550 back in 05, so I had a rider, and was able to take my time...
I took it on the maiden voyage last weekend to Cave Run Lake Kentucky. I put about 350 miles on it in 2 days, (60mi of that was a BEER run, Cave Run Lake is in a "DRY" county)  it didn't miss a beat, even in the driving rain for 20 min.
I was a bit nervous, hoping I hadn't forgotten to tighten any bolts, even though I gave it a thorough inspection before I left .
The only problem I had was a leaky tach drive seal, which I just replaced last night...what a #$%*..
I plan on riding it up to MID-Ohio....
By the way, the back-roads of KY are SPECTACULAR. KY 10 - and 165 were 45-55mph and sweeping curves/hills for hours, and in great condition.
Here is the GPS route and elevation data gathered.
