long time since last post as its been a while since ive had time to work on my bike. good news is my engine/carb problems seem over as it start/runs/idles great. been concentrating on the drivetrain now and heres where im at.
when on centerstand bike shifts into all gears but clutch will not disengage and if you pull clutch lever in there is no difference. tried the "rocking back and forth" and "pull clutch lever and kickstart" methods to no avail, so today i took off side cover and took apart cltuch, cleaned the plates and reassembled.
prior to putting back together i messed around with the lever and checked to make sure the actuator rod was pushing out which it was (although its in 2 pieces -- i plan on trying to find new one this weekend).
so after i got it all back into place with and filled bike with oil and let it warm up, pulling in the clutch lever still made no difference. the bike did seem to shift alot easier on centerstand but any rear brake pressure with clutch lever in caused a stall or a gnarly grinding/skipping sound.
im thinking the sound came from the chain skipping over the pretty shoddy looking front sprocket even though i just adjusted chain ( see photo if i can get it to attach)
planning on getting new sprockets/chain anyway so that part is no big deal, i am really more concerned with the clutch not disengaging.
so, my questions are:
1. could it be as simple as a new actuator rod?
2. does this have anything to do with the lack of "teeth" on front sprocket?
3. am i missing something obvious?
4. what is my next step towards a bike that i can actually ride?
thanks
