Ya know, it sounds like a lot of you have never seen a stock puller.. it dont take a wrench or socket.
I have built & sold quite a few pullers, Rented one particular type out a lot , and do have an idea how they work.
So, I will run thru it again;
Using the STOCK FACTORY PULLER I tightened it up and smacked it & retightened & smacked it & tightened Again & smacked it multiple times.
The fact that it is barely retightening ( and not popping the rotor) suggests that it is merely bedding in, that is the threads are slightly deforming, or the end of puller or shaft are flattening slightly, or any combination of the three.
So, as I already mentioned it is stuck, and not being removed by the factory method, so I fail to see the point of beating it any harder, when it is still in the cases. (The axle trick would have been hilarious on this one).
Anyway, asking about the heat, in case anyone has had to resort to that. I think heating it in one spot wil let it grow & pop off.
