74 cb 750 project bike
« on: June 09, 2009, 05:51:27 PM »
Hi All,

I'm new here.  I picked up a 74 cb750 and am getting ready to tear into it.  I'll try to get some pictures up soon.  It needs a lot of work, but it runs and rides OK.

I'd like to try to use the stock exhaust but some meathead threw out the diffusers in the ends of the pipes.  Anybody know where I can pick some up (preferably used and cheap)

Thanks, Greg

Hi, no info on diffusers, but welcome.  If it runs and rides that's half the battle, it can't be that bad from here on out.  We all enjoy pictures and videos too, so show off what you've got.
Cheers.

Its a crying shame, the diffusers that is. The early bikes had the longish ones, 10" or better. Yours has the shorter ones 2-3" or so. They were always the first thing to be stripped. Tens of thousands of them must have been thrown away.   Sigh.

I wonder if Yamiya has replicas? I'll go look.

yes yamiya has them for $30 each, ouch. OK if you need them for restoration, a bit pricey for a rider.  http://www.yamiya750e.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=35_88&sort=20a&page=2

If you find some used and cheap, you'll be one lucky man!

I'll try these pics.

Love that 70's eagle sticker - That will go soon, nothing the DA can't fix.
