In Gold Beach on the Oregon Coast, not really abandoned I suppose but a good bit of history.

Many Alaska towns have the bone yard where you can watch the abandoned boats float until they sink again, and do it again the next day if the tide is high enough again. Looked at a few that I thought could be brought back, with a bunch of work, of course.

Thanks, Bobby. That's a cell phone pic, believe it or not.  Got lucky on the light, plus a little tweaking.

You guys wont believe it but I ran this through a ghost exposing program that I have. If you look closely you can see what I believe to be a spirit or an apparition in the door way. Pretty spooky.

Fark! Who you gonna call? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Here is a great example of hippie architecture and carpentry an hour or so south of Grants, New Mexico.

Featuring an open floor plan giving an air of spaciousness -

With a real 'lived in' feel (even when deserted) -

Including modern conveniences such as built-in appliances -

Other amenities include a fully carpeted 'lawn', complete with bandstand -

It needs a little work, but the basics are there.  You can feel the free love oozing from the place.

That's a nice "Fixer Upper" Greg, with that open plan interior, I wonder why they bothered building a band stand? Were they expecting to stage another Woodstock in their own back yard?

We still have hippies in Oz, they're called "Greenies" now, they're just as useless, and just as smelly too............ ;D

You got a real find there, they must have been interupted in their upgrades as you will notice the nice wallpaper ready to be hung on the table!
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

While visiting my sister in upstate NY, I came across an abandoned garage. Obviously i couldn't just drive on past  ;D  No CB's, but there's a nice early 60's (?) mercedes in there! along with a few other cars.  Im really tempted to go back and part out that mercedes though! (left in pic).

Surely someone must own the land that the "abandoned" garage is sitting on mate? I love garage finds, but I'd be careful about not being charged with trespass? Cheers, Terry. ;D

I do wonder. I wouldn't touch anything until I knew for sure. But it's been untouched for at least 30 years. There were papers and trash sitting on the work bench from the 70's! The whole place is ready to collapse.

Yeah mate, I'd love to take a look in that shed too, but I'd try to get permission first, like Steve says, you don't wanna get shot. Cheers, Terry. ;D

This is a section of pipe that once carried water to the copper mining town of Jerome, AZ. The road in the background on the left is hwy 89A.

Scott, how about doing an entry in the Interesting Roads and Destinations thread on Jerome and 89A?  Unless you want to keep it a secret. ;)

Ha!  We camped near Jerome in 2013, beautiful area, especially coming from Tombstone in July, it felt like we live again with the lower temperature.

Being from (now) Virginia, I could not get over all the open space in Arizona;  in Virginia you really have to make the effort to have a view over a mile.
