8/8/2002. My 51st birthday and the day the music "almost" died for me. I got hit head-on on my 2001 Fat Boy and bounced off the front end of the van. Got beat up and broken kinda badly. Shoulda been dead. I heard my daughter tell me "wake up daddy" and she was 450 miles away!

5/21/1997. The day my daughter was born.

As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Jerry- that is awesome!  (Not a word i use very often, either)

I was never actually born;  I just hung on the tree until I started to get a little over-ripe, and fell down.

In a similar vein to Jerry, I should be dead several times over.  Yahweh keeps grabbing me by the scruff of my neck and keeps me from going over the edge.  I have decided to go with it. That- plus remembering what a putz my father was and how he took his family for granted- I try to make everyday special.  My fsmily deserves the best I can do everyday.  I would never want my wife to feel like me or my mother did.

You sound a little down.  If you ever need to talk something through, drop me a line.
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

Day after tomorrow is the anniversary of my near-fatal motorcycle accident. So I guess it's a pretty important date, 'cause I didn't die.

To me everyday is a special day. I never felt like that before up until May 20th 2009. That is a dreadful day! We had layoffs in our company and my team got chopped from 50 people to 5 in just one hour. There are guys who gave everything to the company. Some even put the company's interests before theirs! What really pissed me off is the way they performed layoffs. We all were invited to a meeting hall and told "Sorry we no longer employ you" that's it.

I survived the layoffs but trust me guys..going to work after May 20th is not the same as before. When ever I go past all the vacant offices of my colleagues..I feel sad and depressed. I feel like a ghost left alone to rot in our office building. The five us who survived never talk about it and never meet each other. I am thinking to leave the company and move to something else.  pardon my English guys... it is not my first language.

Ernie,

Thanks man. It's all good now. I'm a changed guy now from that. I don't get caught up in life's BS anymore. I learned that life is too short. I haven't worn a watch since then. Time just doesn't matter. It can be now or never. We may not have a future. My daughter just started 7th grade yesterday and to think I could've missed that. She's probably the only reason I'm allowed to still be around.

Frank,

Happy anniversary. It's amazing our wives put up with us, huh?!

The days I wake up and see my daughter.. Last friday I got the privilege of taking her to her first day of kindergarten. Life is good when she is laughing with me.. or at me.

Her b-day is this month and its probably the most important day of my life.. The day my brother died has also been a pretty important day for the last couple of years. It reminds me of what is important and the direction I really want my life to go in.

3 days, my kids birthdays, having the first one changed my life and the other two have also showed me what life is really about. Right before the economy really went in the crapper I went back to school. At the beginning of this summer I got hung out to dry at work, not laid off but put in a position where I couldn't continue. My wife took on another job, we pulled the kids out of daycare, and now I'm a stay at home dad / full time student. I couldn't stand our kids being in daycare everyday and didn't want to look back in regret someday. Money is tight, my bike project has slowed to a crawl, but I get to volunteer at my sons school and see my daughter and other son more in a week than I used to in a month and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Oh I Have several days that are special to me.  Sept 70' Found Brenda the 1st time,  Oct 70' Found her again because I didn't get her name and such the 1st time  ::) (I don't remember the exact day on those 2)

Then there is 8 Jan 71' Married the love of my Life, Brenda! Then 5 Jan78' Karla (our Daughter) was born.      8 Oct 96'  Karla had brain surgery to stop her from having seizures (that officially became her 2nd Birthday because it was like she was reborn.

Then there is a day that wil be forever changed because of what happened. the 1 JULY 09' is just before celebrating Independance Day. Only thing is, Brenda, THE LOVE OF MY LIFE died on that day and that will forever change my whole outlook during those few days. I know and will always be thankful for WHY we celebrate the 4th of July, but I just can't do that any more and don't know that I ever will be able to again.

I'm glad that the new guy started this thread, because I (we) can see that there are so many who have had or gone through some times that have really changed their lives as well and I truly feel for each and ever one.

While it was a really good, thought provoking question, do you really want to continue answering a question from someone who's sole purpose for posting here was to sell you 'health insurance in san diego'? Look at his signature line. He hasn't returned to the forum since posting and I doubt he ever will. Just another empty account taking up space on the servers. I hate people like this,  >:( he's not interested in our forum or your answers, he just wants to sell you insurance!

edit: Don't mean that to sound so harsh, contrary to what I've said above, my issue isn't with those that have posted, it's with the OP.  :-\

Never Dawned on me that it was THAT SORT of thread. :-\ I CAN guarantee you one thing though, I had better NEVER see or hear from him, myself. That is SO LOW, to use a place to promote business like that. I DOn't know about the others, but telling part of what I did, just sorta SNOWBALLED and I've been having some problem all morning off and on.
