My SOHC 4's have gotten the love over the last few months and are looking good and running nicely.  My 1980 CB750F now needs some love. It's been pushed back several times as new projects come along. It got a light going over but it's time for more. Cliff.

Very nice. 👍 How does the ride compare to the SOHC?

Finished up the K1. Ready for spring (it’s snowing again today!). Tubes, tires, headlamp, tank, side covers and badges. Some fresh brake fluid is next, when my new Mity-Vac arrives. The old one fell apart in my hands today!

Thanks Stu…. Very pleased with how that tank turned out. It’s only slightly faded on top but the sides match the new side covers very nicely.

Thanks. Thinking I could move the ex-K1 tank and side covers over to the K3 and have triplets!

I discovered an almost perfect match for the Honda Flake Sunrise Orange - and it only costs about $27... it's a can of Krylon Glitter Blast ($10) and a can of Candy Orange from KustomCans ($17), with a Rustoleum Primer/Sealer base, and it's an almost perfect match. I'm in the middle of painting my '72 Cb500 Four right now, waiting for the candy to set up before I apply the SprayMax 2K Clear, and that should make it Really pop!  I got two cans of the candy orange because I didn't know how much it would cover, but it did the two side covers and the tank with no problem, just enough to do the whole thing, with a very little bit left over. I'll repost when I get the clear on, but I am very impressed with that candy! Thought you guys would like to know...

Dr. Frank, will you also use a fuel-resistant clearcoat for the last coat?
This crappy Ethanol they use in the gasoline is horrible to paint.

This afternoon was day(partial days)#4 to finish cleaning up the set of HM300 exhaust I got from Andy750. They were caked with old burnt on oil/chain lube as well as most had blotches of surface rust so I used real brass brushes and brake cleaner to loosen the oil areas and some foaming glass type cleaner to lube the brass brushes. They are in fairly good condition, now(I had my wonders before starting the cleanup) with  only a few whammoes and 2 small rust holes (I plan the patch in flush with stainless steel sheet goods, tig welded.
I had to drill out one of the baffle bolts that snapped above the muffler, 2 other bolts will have to get drilled out of the baffles and retapped also.
With my ball peen hammer and a brass drift I made from some scrap plumbing parts, an 8" drft rod now.
These will go on a K2 I have in the que to get worked on.

Grcamna - yes, I used SprayMax 2K; I've used it on my KZ400S to great effect. Here's a shot of the final product - it looks a bit orange-peely, but I let it sit and it's leveled out really nicely, the pics don't do it justice, it came out great; I'm very happy with it! I have some double-line white pinstriping like the OEM I'm going to add to detail it a bit to hide the rough edges of the black, but it should look really nice when I'm done. I got bored waiting for the candy to show up this afternoon and decided to dig into the carbs of the 550 I want to do next; they look kind of gross, but I've worked on worse...new jet holders are on the way, and at least all the jets came out okay; but then the paint showed up so I had to get that done first...but with the completion of the 500 tank, I think she's ready to roll! I used Rustoleum Semi-Gloss on the black part, and didn't put clear over that, but seriously, it looks awesome.

Decided to take the K4 for its first outing. While charging up a dead battery, pulled off the rusty old Gemini (Made in California) exhaust and fitted the Hindle system I picked up from “Flybackwards”. Half the weight and twice the noise! Fired up and ran well, just like it always does. This engine has never been out of the frame. Sounds great, my son will love it.

How do you fall out of love with a GS 1100E? 8)
We put RS 36 carbs and a Delkevic exhaust on the 80' and now we would have to be really desperate to sell it even though it's a crusty looking old dog.

Did nothing to my 750 or 350F due to being in Delaware to attend my uncle's funeral.

He was a decorated Vietnam U.S. Marine Veteran and was given the full honors of a military service.

Was very hard listening to the taps and 21 gun salute, due to me being a gulf war veteran, myself.
