Today running my rebuilt bike for the first time.

All seems to be good, lots of oil getting to the head, so really pleased with initial results

Went out with my pristine Honda Spacy 125 (Honda Elite Deluxe in the US) to pick up a shabby Akront Alloy wheel, and made sure i show off my awesome retractable headlight to every pedestrian who crossed the street.

Turns out that the wheel is really just a hub and rim (and spokes), it is missing the brake plate and the sprocket, also the bearing retainer is missing. This wheel was from a CB500 (no idea what year), i want to use it on my CB550F (1976)... will have to figure out if i can make it fit, plus i'm still missing the front alloy wheel, but i know a seller across country who has one for sale.... looks like i'll be riding out on my Spacy in the near future (Across country in switzerland at highway speed is about 3 hours...

Looks like I already had the correct tail light, needs clean up and new lens. Number plate mount next

After replacing rear tire on the sidecar rig I adjusted lean out and toe in and took her for a spin. 

Local roads with high crown play tricks on sidecars.   I believe I found the sweet spot.

Getting ready to load the CB750 on the table. Gonna replace the swingarm, front forks with CB550 parts to lower it some.

New Delkevic exhaust, and repainted tank, done by my nephew.

... I got my 10mm rear axle spacer from CycleX and put it on! Woot!

And if that wasn't exciting enough, the rear turn signals I ordered from Ebay arrived. STOCK baby, STOCK. I assumed there wouldn't be bulbs, but there were. The gaskets were pliable, not a scratch on the lenses, even the sockets look brand new. The chrome is weird... somehow there are no tiny scratches from 46 years of polishing... Must have come from a very low mileage bike.
They were $30 from "Mr. Monkey Claw" Ebay seller.

Once I get the K5/K6 front winker stalks/stems I'll be rockin' the fronts too.

what is this polishing you speak of ? or is that another one of these US specific terms which translates ( in my garage anyway ) as spray it matt black ?

Kelly: Naw dang it. By the time I was to the winkers, the kids got home from school and it was time to listen to stories about junior high life and such. Tomorrow I'll deal with my chainguard. Hits the chain now of course. I reckon a Bic lighter, 2 paperclips, and a stick of Fruit Stripe Gum will fix it right up.

As for the front marker lights, those are coming from another Ebay seller and the winker posts coming from 4into1. I'm not sure where I'm going to find my lost marbles.

If you want a relaxing and stress free activity try drilling and tapping a brittle brand new tail light lens to take M4 bolts instead of the sh1te self tappers it came with...
Needs some nice shiny s/s Allen bolts to finish it but happy for now.

Also found the original horn so I figured I'd give it a quick tart up, waiting for the paint to dry so drinking beer to stay focused

You do know plastic requires a very slow speed with sharp bits for best results… too fast and things melt.

I tried it on the old used lens first, I was as gentle as a kitten and all went well

Doesn't look too bad, maybe a bit of polishing of the chrome and the mounting bracket needs some nice new grommets before it gets bolted on
At this stage everything is mock up. The whole thing will need to be pulled apart and built properly before roadworthy inspection and registration then pulled apart again to do the few minor frame mods and paint the frame. But that's all a fair way off

I've always used a Zippo lighter, welding wire and Double Bubble. As for your missing marbles I'm going to opt out of that search.

CBX front brake dragging, the little hole in the master is clear but the caliper pistons are toast and probably hanging up on the seals. Parts ordered.

And, work continues on the GL1100 I inherited, been sitting for over 20 years so the carbs are needing lots of attention. They were vapour blasted and need to be torn down. The throttle and choke shafts are seized.

The K6 had it carbs stripped and cleaned, timing set and runs better but has to go into storage for a short time.

Always something to do.

We got stainless steel caliper pistons for the Interceptor and the Sabre from brakecrafters.com
We also got them for a few other bikes.
Yesterday I had to do some brake maintenance on the 80' GS 1100E and the caliper pistons still look brand new after 3 years.
