Tank style
« on: December 30, 2009, 06:29:36 PM »
So im about to paint my tank...
on the side panels ive gone with a flat black the painted the emblems gloss black
going to do the tank the same....
the question is do i paint the gas cap black too or leave it chrome?

350f
going to have black bars, stainless steel lines, engine unpainted (points and alt covers painted black), all fenders front and rear have been removed
Most of the bike will be black but there will still be some bare metal.
will be much more of an unfinished rat rod meets cafe look...

I'd leave it chrome, unless there are no other chrome parts on bike, grab bar, handle bars, speedo and tach rings, etc...

i woulda voted but as shiz says above. more details about the rest of the bike would help but i like the flat/gloss black idea so  far.

voted.

i say paint it gloss black to match emblems. in these situations i try to figure out the "logic" of a theme. here, i'm thinking what's consistent with the bodywork and any brightwork associated with it. so, any chrome connected to fenders (stays, etc...) would too be gloss black.
