Team Sam Green heading up to MIR on friday for the 4th race in the MIROCK Superbike series. Hopefully we won't have any issues qualifying for the Top Sportsman class and can make some points this time. I'm currently hanging at 3rd place so it would be nice to move up some. Will let you guys know how it turns out when we return on sunday night.

When is Samauto coming out of the hospital again?????????

Good luck Frank and keep us posted

I think the bike is ready to go as the rear sprocket was going to be replaced with a 50 toother
should be ready for November and maybe a local race for test and tune

Samauto out of hospital last Friday night...made internal combustion sounds!
Fired right up with new MSD box and Taylor Pro Suppression wires and caps.
Carbs now w/40 pilots and needles leaned one more notch.
As my racer bud said "Sounds BAD"!!!!
Carbs still not ideal...but before if you revved it 2-3000 rpm no load ,slides just rattled in the bores....
now with 5 coils cut....damn the slides are up @ least a 1/4.How cool,on to something..Thanks to all
who suggested this,but especially Frank(Dragracer).!!!!!!
I tossed the 50 for a 52!!!! We'll hit 10,500 and IMPROVE 60ft times.
Also will adjust valve clearances to help some.
We'll find out what this brings...then Sam, I promise we'll leave it alone and run it!!!!!
Bike will run in the 12's and be DAMN consistent. Bill

Very odd that both the coils and the Dyna 2000 went out near the same time. Whatever happened to quality control in manufacturing???

Can't wait to see what the MSD and the rejuventated carbs do for Samauto's performance.

Hey Frank
Larry out at Dyna Tech isnt saying much other than they are not gong to be making anymore of the 2000s.
They have about 15 or so on the shelve and thats it. my mini coils I think where bad out of the box.
Larry said they can send me a new set of minis but I would rather have the green coils instead.
Sams white coils are still good but everything else have gone to pot. They are going to replace all of the bad parts
I am waiting on the rest of my parts as well as Sams parts for his ignition. to filter in and I can get this over to Bills
to have as a back up to the MSD system.

See you soon

Sorry guys I am not trying to hijack this thread or go off topic but I spoke with Larry at Dynatek today and asked about the Dyna 2000. He said they were not going to stop production but they were going to start making a new Dyna 2000 SE. I also asked about reliability issues that people were mentionioning here and was told that they keep track of all the failures reported to them and it averages to about 4 out of every 100 that ever seem to have issues. Just thought I would pass this along..... ;)

Hey Bill, any way you can take a video of the slides when you do the stall test? If you can, it may provide valuable info. Hoping to hear good news!!

MR WEEKS : A while back you said you can use the boots for a {  K MODEL CB750 } to mount the CV carbs to the 1978 CB750A intakes on the head tubes. What year K-MODEL were you taking about , I have NIGHTHAWK CV CARBS 82-83 and bought new boots for a DOHC 750 that would not work. I also have a set of CV CARBS  off a 1983

Ok,pics for you. ::)

Slides in normal position.

Blipping the throttle,no load,@3-4000 rpms.

Loaded against the brake,slides up,still doesn't crack 3000 rpm on tach....sounds
way different though! ;D 8),Bill

Pops,
As they said, SOHC 750 K manifolds work fine. Kenosha Kid if I remember correctly has aftermarket ones on Ebay several times a year from Europe that cost less than OEM stock Honda ones. That's what I'm using. The DOHC ones won't work.

MR. WEEKS : Thanks again for your answer, maybe this site needs a 750a HONDAMATIC PAGE just for these type bikes on how and why ?  I own many MATIC 400-450-750cc and every day learn more about these bikes from the past [ that every one could ride " no clutch ! " . Sold a few to women who have fallen in love with riding a 400cc Hondamatic down the road at 75 mph on the first motorcycle they ever bought and rode.

The slide position looks pretty good for a first attempt at tweaking the springs. I think once you upload off the brake, those weaker springs will allow the slides to move up a lot quicker than before and net a better 60'.

Keeping playing with the springs and we could see an off the line wheelie the next time out-lol.

On another note, The Loney Motorsports division of Team Sam Green Racing took the 7 hour ride up to MIR for the MIROCK superbike series. We were able to arrive at the track on friday night in time to paying our weekend entry fees,  secure a parking spot and drop off the trailer. After a decent night sleep at the hotel, we returned to the track and set up camp. I decided to race my small tire Kaw in saturdays pro ET race and qualify the car tire bike for the Top Sportsman (T/S)class. I had problems with the 2 step dragging me through the beams on my first time run with the T/S bike. I pushed back to the sideline and was able to lower the launch rpm enough to settle the bike down. With a new slick on the bike, it launch but immediately went into tire spin which netted a crappy 60' and an 8.04 ET- enough to get comfortably in the show but it was a below par pass. We were able to get the small tire bike back to the lanes for a pass. Unfortunately it was not a straight pass but i still ran a 9.01. Next qualifying pass on the T/S bike felt a lot better than the ET showed it- 7.97@ 154mph. My final time run on the small tire Kaw was an 8.99.

First round eliminations in saturdays pro ET i dialed the little bike in at a 8.99 to my opponents 9.50. I gave chase and caught him opponent just before the mph cone. I didn't want to lift so i crossed the line at full throttle but didn't see my win light come on. Dang!!!!!! My ticket showed i brokeout with a 8.94 on my 8.99 dial in. The culprit for the lose was a better 60' than i had on any of my time runs. Oh well, it was too dang hot to buy back in so we loaded up and returned to the hotel for shower and get rested for sunday.

The first shakedown run on sunday the bike ran a 7.99 so i felt a 7.98 dial would be perfect for eliminations since i had run a 7.97 the previous day. My crew chief(wife) decided that a 7.97 dial in might be more realistic. First round eliminations my opponent dialed an 8.58. My bike left the line good and by the 330 mark i had caught and passed the other bike. I easy out of the throttle and took the win. Next round i had the #1 points leader. He dialed an 8.37 to my 7.98. I knew i needed to push the tree a bit with him since i had only been cutting .050 lights all weekend. Well, push i did but a bit too much-i got the redeye. Ouch.

It was a long ride back to SC yesterday.
First time run on the T/S bike

everyone's opinion is needed on this one

This will be for the winter project for the Sam auto drag bike so Sam
don't delete the message yet

I am looking to buy a set of 36mm flat slide CVs and a 38mm set of the same (Flat slide CVs)
from late 80s to early 90s GSXR,s.

Is one year better than the other or are they pretty much the same carb
each set of these will have stage 3 kits in them and of coerce a good cleaning

Once I have them re-racked for Sams bike and in good running order
its off to the dyno to see and compare which will work the best

all opinions are welcome

Thanks
