Hello all! New to the forums here, great place. Looks like lots of AWESOME info!
I've acquired this 76 CB750F project bike.
It runs and rides, but I wanted to spruce it up a bit.
As you can see in the pics I've modified a CX500 fuel tank to fit, and built a custom steel tail piece.
This is my first SOHC, as I'm usually a KZ650 guy... thus my custom tail hearkens the style of a KZ tail piece.
It's similar, but wider, and deeper.
The engine is pulled from the frame at the moment waiting to be cleaned and painted, then have bits polished afterwards.
Frame will be getting blasted and get a load of Champange Sparkle Metallic.
I'll document as I go. I'm also building a very different oil bag for this that some might find a bit over the top, but hey, it's mine. lol
(I do welding and metal fabrication for a living and have build a good number of cafes, streetfighters, chops, bobs, and hot rods, so if anyone has any tech questions that I may be able to help out with, please let me know!)
On to the pics!
This is how she looked when I got her. Like I said, runs and rides, but needs a lot of cleanup and stuff....
After fitting the CX500 tank.
This is with the rough fitting of the tail piece stop. I hadn't done any finishing at this point...
This is with the tail piece completely finished. Pre paint.
With candy over the steel.
With clearcoat over.
Will update after I get the mill all painted and cleaned up.
