I think you're talking about different CALIPERS, right?

The piston inside the caliper...how is THAT going to make a weight difference?

because it's solid steel .. compared to a phenolic one , witch is a polymer

and they seal better . and don't pit like the steel ones

I'm looking to do a dual disc conversion on my recently acquired CB550F and noticed your setup.
It looks like you used stock calipers and brackets, but turned them around so the calipers are at the back of the forks.
There must have been more to it. Could you elaborate a bit?

Im pretty sure its that simple jimmy. You add the extra caliper and put the forks on backwards so the caliper is on the back.

Joe, I have a master cylinder from a 81 VT 750 with dual front rotors, so it should work well. I can not tell you if it needs to be rebuilt or not, it seems to work ok however you would have to judge for yourself. Anyway its yours for the asking if you want/need it. It's square and rather low profile.

Prices are reasonable, knowledgeable guy and he's sold 300+ pistons according to one post by him...
Buy more than one piston in the order and the prices get better and better.
Not sure if he has all 750 pistons yet...if not you could provide him with one of your steel pistons and he could make phenolics using it to get the critical dimensions.  Provided it is within the dimensions of the pistons he starts from. (from a Buick I believe...)
