Gotta say I don't find the box that hard to deal with on my 75... But then again I set the carbs and forgot about them not messing with them all the time.

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

I did some work on my Harley.  It's a Superglide.....I fabbed up and mounted hard fiberglass Harley saddlebags and tourpack from a 1970's dresser.  Also added a batwing fairing.

Otherwise, no bike work.  It is COLD and crappy here in Rapid City.

FJ - you planning on putting a nasty cam in that 550? I'm waiting for my motowerks exh as well, should really wake up these motors. Your intake manifold/spacer looks like an elegant solution for a straight in intake runner. Did you derive a specific intake length for performance?

Did this bike ever surface?

The guy who bought it from me was a Vietnamese guy in LA.  Last I saw he was trying to double his money on eBay, and it didn't sell.

Perhaps it backfired on him?

Would be interesting to see were my old cafe bike ended up....

I like the '79 variant without the bodywork.

Things are going well.  Only have one bike now...a Harley Davidson Streetglide.

Wouldn't mind a MINT K1-K5 CB 750 if the price was right...

year you are right..mine are a 78..have to try 4 times to find one with a good engine..like the naked bike with tvin choks..
yes 750 are mine favorit also..but have a littel 400 f..who needs to be make before next step...
