Have you tried snorkelling?  I bet you'd really like the coral reefs in different parts of the world.  I recommend Ras Muhammed at the southern end of Sinai, or the Coral Island area on the east coast of it.

Geez Sam, you're a maniac!  ??? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

If you want to snorkel take at least ten gallons out first or you will have water everywhere. Also be careful not to scrape your knees getting in. Dont ask me how I know.

Cool salt tanks, nice work, and it is work I know.. We still keep 2 fresh water tanks.

Used to have a salt tank with a snow flake eel and a Lion fish.  Don't put your fingers in!!
The two of them ate me out of house and home. Buying gold fish in bulk is still expensive.
.....but it was fun to watch.

My vehicular interests lie in Air-Cooled Porsches: 911s, 914s, but especially the old 356.  These old bikes are dirt cheap in comparison in every respect (buying, maintaining, parts and restoration).  I'm currently involved in the freshening-up/restoration of an old '62 356.

On the old 356, some VW parts were interchangeable.  However, when shopping parts, a VW part that would work costs X and the identical part with "Porsche" on it costs three to five times as much.  :P

I also am into photography with my old Nikon, building scale models of bikes and airplanes, and I'm also into guns, but that's a topic that's been beaten to death.

I'm also getting into SCUBA diving and will be doing that pretty heavy when I get back home.

So, that's what we watch for over the balloon grounds in ABQ?

It's not ABQ, but we have a nice balloon-festival in Dansville, NY every Labor Day.  I've gone to it once or twice, you camp right on the airport tarmac (closed for the weekend, obviously) and watch them take off twice a day.  They fly right over the trailer on their way out.

csendker,

Looks like a good race. Maybe I will attend this year. I am looking for a couple on the east coast so I can get out and talk to my dealers and customers... And it is always fun flying the balloon in new places. And I know of a couple balloon events in Australia and New Zealand.

SD, we have a big balloon race here for the Kentucky Derby every year. It's at the end of April so it gets postponed or cancelled sometimes, but it's usually a good show. The "balloon glow" the night before is pretty cool too. Here's a link: http://www.kdf.org/events/eventviewer.asp?id=271

I build bicycles. I'm particularly fond of the internally geared three-speed hub. I also run a lot of footraces, from 3-milers up to the marathon. And I enjoy backpacking. In the past few years, I have climbed Mauna Loa and done some hellacious hiking in the Grand Canyon.

Oh, and I like to piss off the neighbors with my mid-'70s Rogers drum set.

You fond of the 'ol Sturmey-Archer 3? I converted one for use on a Tandem. Neat little design.

The most durable multi-speed hub ever built. I have built several 700c wheels using Sturmey Archers for use on modern road bikes.

S-A also made transmissions for Norton and other British motorcycle manufacturers back in the day.
