anyone identify this tank?

It is on a DOHC I know but I got a lien on a good deal on one but the stocktank is teardrop attrocious. This one looks awesome though


now the seat.... well that's makes cry on the inside

Looks like the standard tank to me. Engine sounds like a bag of nails tho'...

That's a stock DOHC tank. Just some custom paint. And maybe it's a bag of hammers, ouch.

The tank in first pic may be sohc tank but not dohc

 The CL bike looks like tank has been changed..good price if it runs..

Yeah, says its a nighthawk.I google first just 83 DOHC and that bike above came up. Then search for the nighth hawk and thats a nighthhawk tank on it , just curious about what tank would fit it . 500 is good 400 is stellar!

Standard tank.... that craigslist tank is the NH or Special..... either lots of valve clearance or the primary chain is getting floppy. My XS850 makes that noise when the RPM's drop seriously low on cold days. Sounds like a bag of door knobs being tossed around.
