 are the hondaman and msd mc-3 igntions simalar can anyone please tell me differences or if anyone has ran the msd unit peace thanks crash

am just curious first non amican old bike i have done and first inline four with points .... had sevral of my crotch rockets with msd ignitions and was just wondering i wan to build something quick and reliable for everyday and long distance fun riding

Hondamans ignition uses the points to trigger an electronic ignition. Better spark at high RPM's than the dynas, etc.

The MSD is an electroic ignition.

I haven't seen comparative results from an MSD on a SOHC4.

the msd unit uses the points as a trigger to and has a jumoer plug to go bike stock if you have battery or charging issues
