Maybe it's just my computer, but every time the kick drum is hit, there is this kind of volume-suck/cancelation thing that happens. Is that part of the tune?

yeah, that's why I liked it so much.
it makes me feel like I'm in a club where they have those gargantuan sub cabinets with like 100 18's in 'em.
and whenever the bass hits it's so hard you lose the ability to hear anything but BOOOOM BOOOM.

Nah they just sound a little too simple would be the best way to put it. Sounds like it could be on A Tribe Called Quest's "Low End Theory" album. Someone referenced The Roots. Man I LOVE that album Things Fall Apart, even though it is just a little Pro Black. Why are those feelings still around these days?

I did a monitor gig for her in Ma. back before she was on the music awards and preggers. I had no idea who she was but the place was packed. I didn't like her road crew, but the music was cool. Maybe I should have payed more attention.
