HT, on the earlier stock pipes the inner baffle is smaller than the end hole on the muffler.
We built a fixture ( could be wood if only using a few times), to hold it in the mill, or over edge of drill press table, then use correct size holesaw to cut out.. Done that way, they are easy to put back in..

 its pretty torquey, eh?

What color will the shopping cart be coated?

As of right now the cart is supposed to be lime green.

Congratulations!  Are you sure your connections to the Italian Mafia don't have anything to do with this?  And yeah, I would definitely work out a deal on a house with the city...  now is the time and I'm sure that they'd be more than happy to help.

Lol somehow I don't think my family knows me that well. I tend to want to earn things before allowing them to fall off a truck.

I'm NOT a litigious person but I just had a thought.
If they give you a bike and then you are out riding it for every one to see.... could it effect a more long term deal later?
i.e. He couldn't be that bad, he's riding a brand new bike we just gave him. ;)

Well since I'm not looking for a deal later on down the line.... I'm not worried. I didn't ask for anything above and beyond paying for my medical bills. I didn't earn this money, therefore, I don't deserve it.

Seaweb I used your quote because it seems to sum up the legal feeling here. Not picking on you. I promise.  ;D

Sure you can say that I got hit. That the driver was negligent, blah blah blah. But in reality we all make mistakes. He wasn't drinking, or doing drugs, and he has a stellar record with the bus company. So why try to throw this poor guy under the bus so to speak?

Should I have been more aware of my surroundings? Sure. I won't deny it. I mean who cannot hear a 15,000lb diesel bus coming toward them until it's too late?

Where I sit, he hit me because I was in the road. Yes it was a crosswalk but that's beside the point. It was an accident.

I'm not looking for something for free. Sure I got this bike, but I didn't ask or demand it as reparation for my suffering. Nor will I look a gift horse in the mouth, don't misunderstand.

As long as they take care of my personal medical stuff, why would I want or think I deserve more?

Because it's the American way!! ;D ;D

Seriously though, it's awesome you are ok! And no matter the reason it's great that the city is trying to make it right. Too often even when they are in the wrong people try to get out of paying, so if someone is willing to step up to the plate and say they were wrong and fix it then what more can you ask for. HT I like your attitude about this whole situation. Anyhow, enjoiy the bike and watch out for them buses!

Sure it's for sale! How much you ask?? Well, how much are you willing to pay??? Now triple it, that's the price!

I hear ya HT, my brother-in-law (ambulance chaser) wanted to sue the fast food joint when I got a bad case of salmonella poisoning in college. Even though I spent four painful days in the hospital I figured there was no malice or gross negligence that occured so if insurance covered my hospital stay, I didn't want to sue.

My parents and my sister thought I was crazy- "You almost died, blah blah"

Well, I didn't die and I really didn't care to sue, I figured the courts could be clogged up with more important cases than mine.

*Sigh*  It's so hard to make a call on things like these...I'd like to say that I could man up and take things the way you have, HT...but at the same time, I know that later in life when I'm hurtin', or money is just tight, I'd think back and say, "man, I could be a lot better off right now if I'd just sued like everyone else..."

But it's the "like everyone else" part that's important.  In order for the actions of "everyone else" to change, someone needs to step up and act differently first.  I applaud you for doing the right thing and not working the system.

I will tell you this from experience, and i bet a few lottery/windfall winners would agree..

After a lot of years of healing after a nasty accident, and settling with the insurance company, and some time went by, I finally ended up in the position where all the money was finally gone..

 And it actually felt good...

I would have to say things are not good for me right now, but having the money gone was a bit of a relief...

Sure wish I HAD bought the land I looked at, would have been pretty comfortable if I sold it in the last few years..

While I thank you guys for understanding, I'm not looking for recognition nor am I trying to be different.

Just the way I was raised is all. Why take more than you deserve?

I mean granted, my mom thinks I deserve way more, but whose mother doesn't?

I mean I could see if I couldn't walk, or could barely get out of bed, or have constant killer pain.

But I don't. Sure I need a cane NOW, but I've been hurt worse and still walked away so to speak. So I guess I'm breaking from the fold and not asking for the world.

eh... I'm cool with being poor.  :D

Sad part is there are a lot of people like me.... just that most of them ride in buggy's and refuse to use electricity.

Sadly I cannot grow a mustache even if I wanted to...

So in order to help facilitate more furniture sales I do grow a beard yes.

The fact that it looks like a trimmed amish beard is pure coincidence.

Or so I tell my reflection in the mirror every morning.  :D

lol mustaches or amish beards?

I hate to shave/trim it sometimes.... but my boss doesn't like "scruffy" as he calls it.

I guess I'll just have to get married and then claim a long beard as "religious" and tell him to stuff it.

You're in luck, Amish don't have mustaches, just beards. Can't have a beard until they are married.  :)

Not entirely true... depends on the church and it's laws.

Most "Amish" follow a set of standard rules. Allowing the local church to set the finer points and boundaries.

Mennonites, while technically "Amish" are a different sort all together. Depending on the church rules they can drive, smoke, drink, and/or use electricity to a certain extent.

One Amish craftsman told me that it is basically the difference between Catholic and Lutheran so to speak. (in simple terms for you simpletons.... Crippler. Ahem. :P )

So while most in the midwest choose to wait until harvest.... it can take almost a full 3 years for courting to end and a life to begin together.

Then they find/build a house locally to the community.... and of course build a barn and out buildings.... and oddly enough the whole community pitches in to get the family started. Not just the female's family.

To sit back and experience their way of life as a spectator is one thing.... to actually go out there and join them in some of their activities.... will kick your ass it's so much work. :D
