Maybe it's just my computer, but every time the kick drum is hit, there is this kind of volume-suck/cancelation thing that happens.  Is that part of the tune?
this song does that too.

That's just a weird effect to include in a song.  It just sounds like mechanical failure from amps that are too underpowered, as in the input voltage in inadequate.  I've created that effect by using weak(er) batteries in a distortion pedal.  The op amps pull to much power when trying to amplify low frequencies.
"Sure, if you don't want that bike in your backyard, I guess I'll take it."  "I'll probably just scrap it......"

I swear that you can hear a goat or a sheep bleating in this song.  Listen closely.

I know, isn't it cool.
when you make the 'on four loop' in a music editor, you drop the gain in time with the bass, on the block that holds your midrange and high end. does the same as running a .5v pre-out into a 1200 watt amp.;D

makes it sound like you're listening to it in a dance club.

you should hear it in a good set of headphones! :o

Actually it's an effect of overcompression.  It's usually a sign of a poorly mixed/produced song.  Unless you're using as an effect  ;)

You run the entire mix through an audio compressor and turn the kick up so it's louder than everything else.  Set the compressor's threshold so that the only thing that goes over it is the hot kick track and set the attack and release down to tenths or hundredths of a second.  When the kick hits it activates the compressor which turns down everything in the mix for 1/20th of a second.  Gives the whole mix a "whoomp whoomp" kinda feel.   ;D

I personally can't hardly stand that sound, since I was trained that it's something to avoid like the plague!

Well the T-Pain AutoTune phenomenon was started by Cher in much the same vein...  It was originally a "mistake" for the autotune effect to show through (since it's supposed to be transparent; singers are supposed to be able to sing without the aid of a machine!)  Cher heard the mistake and thought it sounded neat, so she used it in her song "Believe".  The one that goes, "Do you beeelieeeeve in life after love".

One man's production trash is another man's production treasure!

The only people that wear fedoras are douchebags that think they're being unique.

And old men.

I wear a fedora when I go outside 'cause baseball caps don't keep the sun off your ears.
                                                                                                    (I burn easily)

I also pop my collar to keep the sun off my neck.
but I get what you're saying about douche bags...  they always be jockin' my style.
