So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

makes me want to cry, thinking about the economic devastation to come. you cant imagine how many people there make their living off of the seafood in the gulf. oyster fisheries, gone for at least 15 years, shrimp prices are going to double at the very least. i  am all for getting more domestic oil so we wont be so dependent on middle east oil, but will the cost be something we as a country can afford?  i knew it would be bad when the fire and explosion first happened but now i understand that a second oil platfor has flipped over out there? i THINK thats what i heard on the news last night.

i really am all for the extra drilling, i'm no bunny hugger, but there have got to be safeguards to prevent this kind of thing from happening. i dont know enough about oil drilling to be able to do anything but spout things i've read. this is going to worse than the economic impact of katrina and ike i bet.

Beat me to it.  I read today that Haliburton was responsible for shoddy work that may have caused this spill.

Majority of my family live hand to mouth on the seafood industry. This has the potential to devastate many of them  :-[

Conservatives want less oversight and regulation and when something fails it's the government's fault.  Sorry this is free market capitalism at it's worst.  Profit before all else.  Just like the coal mining disaster.  Get the government out of regulating big business and let the market work it's magic. ::)

I don't hug trees by any stretch of the imagination, but I do believe in being responsible. I'll just leave it with I'm saddened to think of the loss of animal life, the loss for those rig workers, and for the people who will be impacted by this.

Sure it's for sale! How much you ask?? Well, how much are you willing to pay??? Now triple it, that's the price!

Brandon, I'm not calling you out or anything but something you wrote struck me. You mentioned "for the people who will be affected by this". The really scarey part is that we will ALL be affected! 6 more days at best until they can begin to stem the leak?!?!? When it comes to an eco system there is no boundary!

The price of lettuce to me jumped today! by 2.50 a case! Hadnt varied 1$ for a year. I can only imagine the excuses but im sure it will be Price of gas or ?????! The incentive to start charging ahead of time to make more $ before people notice!?? Lettuce is a staple and lots of people dont check prices! Ill ask tommorow. That is another way we will all be affected! On a positive note when Katrina hit a case of Bud sold for 5.99 here for 3 weeks at all grocery stores! That wont happen cause beer will be needed to do the mundane thankless cleanup. Oh man im envisioning 20$ cases of beer!

BP is now trying to deflect blame to another company called Transocean.  I wonder if this is an attempt to dump the cleanup cost onto a smaller company that does not have the resources so it's driven into bankruptcy and the cost gets dumped on the taxpayers?  Hopefully I am wrong on this.
