Tarozzi rearsets for an F2
« on: May 09, 2010, 12:44:18 AM »
Tarozzi don't seem to list a rearset for the 1977 F2, but they do have one for the 1976 F1.  Does anyone know if they will my F2 OK?  The dealer doesn't have a clue.  Dave, Bolton, England.

I just did a quick look and Raask make rear sets for a 77F1 and a 78F2 offered through mandpdirect in the UK.  Not tarrozi but a possible substitute?

I did a quick check for the differences for the f1 and f2 on this site and the frames "look" the same and there were no remarks about the frame... but you'll need someone who owns one and has worked on these to be absolutely certain.

I also did a quick search of the forum but did not have time to read every post just a few dozen  hopefully someone will chime in with the info you need.

The F1 and F2 are very different.

Omars has a set listed for the F2.  I have not seen these on a bike yet and I am also looking for some rearsets for my F2.  Post it up if you find/get some.

Looks great.  Why don't you make me a set?  lol.

I am sticking with the mids until I can come up with the rearsets I want to buy or make.

Here are some photos of what I did for rearsets on my F2

They are pretty easy to make, and I'll be the mounts I used would work with a universal set.  The mount are just the buddy peg mounts off of a 1980 something shadow.... they work perfectly and look much better than using mounts off of say a new rocket. imo

as mike said the f1 rearsets are very different, if i were you i would forget the raask ones , i bought a set for my f2 and they were  absolute rubbish . badly designed, badly made . in the end i used a couple of harris magnum hangers and fitted some universal tarozzi levers and rests

they look exactly like the universal tarozzi rearsets , you dont get the back plates with them but over here they are only £90  which makes carpys look a bit dear at $499

Thanks for the info - B82 that bike is exactly what I'm trying to do !  Sadly I don't have your inginuity or skill.  I'll probably try the tarozzi universals as you suggest - only £92 over here http://www.discovolantemoto.co.uk/  Great idea with the seat - I've been looking for one at a reasonable price and found nothing so I'll give your idea a go. What is the front fender (or mudguard as we like to call them!) from.  Dave

The front fender is just a stock one that I cut down and painted black.  Le me know if you need/want any more info on the seat.  I'm more than happy to help out.

Cheers b82ta, the stock fender is different on the UK bike (attached), and doesn't have the right rounded profile.  I'll get back on Ebay and look for one that has to cut down. Didn't realise the hump on the standard seat is just a bolt-on, but it looks quite straightforward now I've had a look. Dave

yep the only modification needed for the tail was to trim off the piece that goes under the stock seat. Pretty quick and cheap way of getting a tail piece.
