The fin idea is just a coolness factor. I have this thing about blank space around engines. Looks weak, so I want to beef it up a bit. You can look at the side of my ZRX and no light will pass through from one side to the other. More motor = less light = cool

Light can travel to the edge of our universe but not to another. Dark matter.

Just ordered some new tires. His prices were good but most importantly he responded to my questions.

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

Spacer for the fron sprocket so the chain will clear the 180 rear....but now hits the frame.
BEFORE

MILLING

Milling out the HD hub to accept the new axle. I spent 4 hours milling about 2 lbs of aluminum off the dang thing.

Thanks to Stephe aka "Rippy" for the axle and Tom aka "750" for the stainless lic. plate bracket.

Darn, the whitewall is gone.  I was hoping you were going to put one on the back too!   :'(
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

I have so many frigging tires and wheels kicking around. This setup is the 3rd and final config.
I am going to get one of those tire pens for the lettering though. Black tires are so blah. ::)

Frankenstuff, I am really, really impressed with a lot of the work you've done on this bike and the quality of the parts you've made for others (saw your blue handiwork in person when I went to check out Tintop's magnum opus).

I love the R1 swinger you chose and the speedhole treatment you gave it, it looks badass, and the adjustable shock mount is a thing of beauty.

With that said...
Here are some early stages of the project.

...as much as I hate to come into a thread and say something negative, my conscience won't let me disregard that photo.  I know that you switched to a different rear suspension setup, but since I don't think anyone else made this point, I have to say that the setup shown in this pic is a terrible safety hazard.  It applies a very large bending moment to the stock swingarm which was absolutely not designed or built to handle it.

In addition to that, the spring rate is way, way off (probably 3x too soft), and if you did increase the spring rate to an acceptable level, the damping would then be off by that same factor of ~3.  In other words, you'd have a rolling pogostick with a built-in self destruct function.

Like I said before, I know that you changed this and I'm not trying to crap on you or your work.  I would just feel bad if someone else who's less talented & discerning than you are saw this picture and decided to adopt a similar approach and ended up getting badly hurt as a result.

Sorry about the interruption.

Can't wait to see the highlighted lettering on your new tires.  ;D

It was clear that the setup wouldnt work as soon as I let the bike put weight on it. I had filled the shocks with rubber wich made them pretty solid...and no longer shocks.

The early transformations of the bike were literally just cut off and re-use everything I could. Would work myself into a hole then dig out. The frame that I am currently on is #3.

Bike still has alot of mech. details to be bugged out....but at least it rolls now.  :D

still evolving

busting my balls agian? LOL, man I have to get back into the bike....button some things (anything) up.

I think the turbo will remain a daydream for now. Would a turbo work on the stock carbs?

I'm no pro with turbo's but I have looked at like 1000000000 builds on here and from what i've seen people have done it. But there are a few turbo build and I'm pretty sure some used stock carbs and a few used CR29 carbs I believe.
