Where is the crank case breather tube located that runs into the airbox for emissions? Looked and looked but i cant find it? Thanks.

It should come off a small tube at the
back of the breather cap, on top of the engine.

from what I've read and been told the tube is not run into the airbox it is simply routed behind the swingarm along with the carb drain & overflow hoses. there is a seperate drain tube that attaches to the bottom of the airbox also routed behind the swingarm  in case the carbs flow gas into the airbox.
All of this was done before air quality came into effect.

I think that may be whats goin on. The breather for the top end just gets vented behind the swing arm and i can not find anywhere the would hook into airbox.

on my 78 550 which might be a later year change it runs back and connects to the bottom of the air box just below the battery case does you air box have a rebreather area or is it solid on the bottom

For US models, the CB500 doesn't run the engine breather into the air box.  The 74 Cb550 did though.  The HMM shows it's introduction and how it works in the supplement.
