I await the sheep jokes.... ;D

I love [sheep] with a bony arse.  "yes" i do use a piece of sheep hide or sheep skin, and i find i can ride twice before needing a small break. Riding for days on end is one of the small pleasures i still get out of life.  i couldn't be happier.... ;)

At your expense sir.  Thank you!

if greasyj has a boy he will name him sue, that ought to make him tough or die.

haha, actually my ex and me talked about kid names. I told her i liked 'norton' or 'soichiro', she said "norton, ooh like edward". no, the bike dummy.

I've started a new habit that seems to ease the discomfort of no windsheild/back strain it's probably a bad habit but i lay across the top of my bike and rest my legs on the bags sometimes for a while when it seems like too much... brings me right back to good and then i sit up again

I do the same thing on long rides. it helps to change positions every 15 minutes or so. so you don't get cramped and numb. and there is a paddle shaped piece of plastic that fits over your throttle, the cramp buster. that helps me a lot. also I've heard they use those beaded seat covers in india on bikes. supposed to help.

i've heard from plenty of other long distance guys that the beads help a lot!  monkey butt powder and the beads/sheep skin work wonders.  having a nice long distance seat foam and cover help a lot too...  but x2 to the cramp buster, those rock for anything short of around town!

speaking of monkey butt, they make moisture wicking boxers, now. so much better. I'm slowly replacing all my old ones. some of them suck, though. they are like pantyhose type material and ride up really bad. the best I've found at the best price are champions, cotton mix w/ bands at the thighs to hold them down/not ride up.

I also like soccer socks, because they are long enough to keep boots from chafing and cover from the knee down, but breathe very well and keep yer toes dry(unsweaty).

You don't sound like the adventerous, out doors, fishin', shootin', type.

My understanding of a motorcycle trip is all about adventure. If I wanted comfort, I think I would have stayed home. As for a tent... get a roll out pad and your good to go. Hotels and rode trips just don't go together in my mind. Now roadtrips and getting a "My family is upstairs" hotel breakfast, thats a different story.. ::) ;D

Hi,

I always liked to travel by motorcycle, and when getting older, and having a family, I adapted in a way that we both are happy, the kids (5 yrs old and 10 yrs old) on the other hand like to travel at the back of the bike, but I think that's not save). A benifit is that you don't ride with luggage.

When you're 18 it's a different story, I would't even consider buying a car,

Hey fair go Jerry, I told you before, I was only trying to push that poor sheep thru the fence, that's all! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)
