I haven't been updating as much as I should but she is almost complete.

http://s1090.photobucket.com/albums/i373/Tews19/?action=view&current=116.mp4

If you notice the puddle of gas underneath is because I had the silver tank on to get her gas again, left the petcock on and gas went everywhere. This one seems lower then my Silver K1. Not sure why..  I also had to swap out a coil as one was fried. Not sure how that happened but it didn't work...

Things to do still.....
Clutch cable on
Front brake
finish cleaning tank out
Side covers painted
Mount front fender
Front sprocket
chain

Plan was to be done this weekend but I hurt my back in a car accident on Tuesday and been out of commission.

Take em to your local little mompop muffler shop and ask if they can braze them.  You not want a big patch, just fill in where the rust is (if not a big hole).
The PO of my red 550 did a horrible patch job on the muffler.

2 pipes have holes about 3"x3".... If they are toast that would suck.

Glad your feeling better. The problem with rust is that the walls are so thin around the rust that theres not much left there to weld to. You may start with a three inch hole and wind up with a five. I`ve got the same problem with my K1 pipes. I havent decided what I`m gonna do with them yet...........Gary

Tews, congrats on getting it running!  Looking good.  Cant wait to see some more current pics (running video a little dark).

Well she rides really well. Shifts through all the gears smoothly. Finding neutral kinda funny. I have to turn the bike off. Then turn on power then shift into neutral. Oh well. I figure it out. Put 7 miles in today. Swapped the 74 side covers to her until I get Frankens painted to match. Still need to put on the front sprocket covers. Other then that she rides like a dream. All electrical works properly.  I couldn't be more pleased. Here she is at the local school. If you look closely you can see the damage on the left side from when I knocked the tank over while cleaning.

I like the black covers as well. I may have Frankens painted black as these are growing on me.

Good job Tews. Looks like you got a nice everyday rider. As far as your tank, man that sucks. Accidents happen though :( I did something similar to my rear fender on my 750K6 a year or so ago. I drop something on it and put a nice dent right behind the seat. I was so mad at myself and called myself a lot of bad names ::) But I was able find another one from a forum member here.

Agreed...not so keen on the black covers as the gold covers really bring that candy out. Nice looking bike tews and congrats on the first run.
